If you want to opt for M.Tech in GIS, MNNIT Allahabad can be a very good option. The placement is also quite good with many alumni working in companies like L&T, ISRO etc. According to the students, the minimum package is somewhere around 5 LPA, which is a good amount given this field. However I would recommend that if you get a chance, you should go to IIRS Dehradun for the same course as it has facilities better than MNNIT and the placements are also great.

The students of MNNIT Allahabad from the department of Electrical Engineering are allowed for on campus placement for software or technical companies in the IT sector. Although the placement cell make sure to allow every student from the electrical department to appear the on campus recruitment process of tech companies, some companies deny to allow the electrical students to appear for the recruitment process. Some technical companies specifically mention in their eligibility criteria to allow only CS/IT branches for the recruitment process. But there are other software companies too who make sure to allow every branch students to appear the on campus placement. These type of companies mainly focuses on the technical skills of the students rather than focusing on the branch from they belong to. Dear Applicant the regular admission procedure into M.Tech courses is through the GATE Examination. Now there are few Institutions like Manipal Institute, BITS Pilani, BIT Mesra, Chandigarh University, they conduct their own entrance for admission into M.Tech courses. Now if your college allows you to take direct admission into M.Tech Environment Science course then that is great because generally you need to appear in GATE Examination to be able to take admission.
