It has greatly developed as it currently houses one of the largest law library in the country. Adequate facilities with respect to sports and recreation area also made available to students along with good hygienic food
Like most of the colleges, it has some good faculties and some not so good. Over the last few years the quality has reduced but that's a general trend as well. However, student run avenues are there to compensate it.
Like most of the 2nd generation NLUs, the placement scene is improving with time as more and more alumni are well placed in leading law firms. The RCC has also become very active in seeking out opportunities for the batches.
Depends on what you consider as value for money, it is definitely expensive as compared to a central or state university's law faculty but the peer group is way better than the former. Choose accordingly
Lively campus life, lots to do other than studies. There won't be a dull moment in campus
College infrastructure is improving slowly. The library is finally functional. The hostels are spacious, you get single rooms which is a great thing. Overall the college is pretty but needs a lot of development.
Academics used to be brilliant but nowadays poor quality of teachers and random hiring is making it suffer. Students are brilliant and create a wholesome culture of studying and ambition. Mooting is a renowned and sought after activity.
Placements are improving every day. The seniors in law firms and various companies are helpful and the students being brilliant and with increasing brand name, all of it together it is going great and is improving, everyone is in a good place.
It is ideally yes a value for money. One of the reputed NLUs with great cohort of students, exposure and opportunities. NLUO has a good brand name in the market and overall opportunities and doors are opening up more and more.
Campus life is a lot of fun and you get to spend 5 years in this beautiful peaceful campus. You can have lot of fun, party, chill, study. everything is their at your disposal and one can make a great memory of college.
Yes it has all the necessary infrastructure facilities and equipment. It has everything a class needs. It maintains a good hygiene and cleanliness. The foods are having great taste and are properly cooked.
Ver good teachers makes classes more knowledgeable , interactive , fun and enjoyable. They also provide best materials and helps a lot while preparing for exams and more. The syllabus is good nit much burdening.
The quality of placements is excellent . More than 100 students with good amount of package. Yes the process is easy and pleasant. The college is very supportive towards this. The average salary staarts from 50 thousand onwards as a fresher
Affordable for everyone and it's worth as everything is good no compromise in studies as well as extra curricular activities and many more exposure is provided.
The campus has everything from basketball ground to football. There are many activities one can engage themselves. Yes the students teachers and support staff are extremely good. Yes it is safe.
Totally I find a great experience in this university. It has everything a student requires. Having best and support teacher to classmates and many other authorities. It really provides a good exposure to the students and helps us to have good experiences.
The classrooms are well furnished and there are ample number of classrooms in all three floors. The library is still in making , so we have to manage with a smaller one which is present in the academic block itself. The sports centre is decent and could have been better. The best thing about the hostels are single occupancy rooms and the food is top notch.
Studying law. (BA. LLB). The quality of teaching is decent for some subjects and very good for some subjects. There is a fixed number of subjects we have to read over a period of 5 years. Curriculum is generally updated but more could be done on that front.
The quality of placements has been a concern. The location might be an issue too. We seriously lack some vision with regards to the recruitment procedure in our college. Mostly the students got job due to their internships at various organisations.
Course almost costs Rs 1,71,000 per year. With that money being paid , I would ofcourse expect more out of the college.
Campus is beautiful. The only demerit is the location as it is very far away from the main town. The nearest hangout place is also far away. There are various centres and societies for students to join and apply their mind.
I attend 1.25 years in college. So I have missed a good part of it due to lockdown. College Life was hectic and enjoyable at the same time.
The college comprises of an academic block where you spend most of your time. There you can find the different lecture halls, tutorial rooms, moot court halls, commitee rooms, faculty chambers, seminar halls etc. There 2 boys hostel and 1 girls hostel with single room occupancy. Another girls hostel and the law library is still under construction. There are different sports facilities available on campus. However the scenic beauty of Mahanadi and Kathajodi is the cherry on the cake.
During the first 3 semesters, the BA and BBA subjects are given more importance than the law subjects. Classes usually begin at 9 and end at 1. These short timings are useful for students as they give time to focus on doing better in moots, research papers, ADR competitions and a general work life balance. The maximum GPA is 8 and most considered having a GPA more than 7 as satisfactory.
This year there have been record placements for NLUO as 29 students have been placed through campus placements which is the highest since its conception. Students are now also able to get internships in Tier 1 law firms through the university's internship commitee. The university looks forward to better performance in the future.
Living in NLUO has been an unforgettable experience even as a 1st year. You will find amazing and helpful seniors and batch mates who will help survive the drag of law school.
The college provides ample opportunities in Mooting, debating, ADR, academics, and the list goes on. To not miss out on the partying the college has an annual cultural fest, Kairaan and during Diwali or Dusshera holidays the cult comm would host Bhukkad and Hunar. The sports fest Viraj also coincides with Kairaan which makes those three days even more enjoyable.
The college provide excellent infrastructural facilities. There are single accomodations rooms available in our hostels with a good canteen which offers north indian and south Indian food. The college provides unlimited wifi facility.
Academics is also very good here. The college provide highly qualified faculty members. The course curriculum is well structured to meet the practical needs of law in society. Most of the subjects are taught by more than one lecturer.
Placements for post graduates students are good. They got hired in top law firms like amarchand, khaitan & company and many more. Infact we have a placement committee in the university which is a student body and supervised by a faculty advisor.
hi,
With an AIR of 3924 and EWS rank of 306 in CLAT, you have a good chance at some of the decent National Law Universities (NLUs). You might expect admission in NLUs like:
NLU Odisha
NLU Jodhpur (maybe in general or home state quota)
NLU Cuttack
NLU Nagpur
Getting into the top NLUs like NLSIU Bangalore or NLU Delhi may be tough with this rank, but you can get a good law college with your score.
Keep checking the cutoff trends and counseling updates. Good luck!
For more info, you can visit Careers360 CLAT page .
hello there,
With an OBC Discuss of 5941 in CLAT, affirmation to top-tier NLUs is very impossible, particularly for profoundly requested courses like BA LLB. Be that as it may, you'll still have a chance in lower-ranked NLUs depending on category cut-offs, residence standard, and the number of seats accessible in later rounds.
You'll keep an eye on:
It's vital to take an interest in all counselling rounds and see out for spot confirmations as well. You'll be able too consider private law colleges tolerating CLAT scores as a reinforcement.
Hello Aspirant,
Your opportunity of getting into top NLUs such as NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, and WBNUJS Kolkata, with an All India OBC Rank of 1219, is very low since these typically close at much lower OBC ranks (usually within the top 200–500 depending on the year). Nevertheless, since you belong to Karnataka, you could be eligible for the Karnataka domicile reservation at NLSIU Bangalore. NLSIU has 25% reservation for Karnataka students, and that too with a sub-reservation for OBC candidates.
Although 1219 is a bit above, you might have a marginal chance in subsequent rounds or through spot counselling, based on how the cutoffs change. Monitor official CLAT counselling rounds and NLSIU's admission announcements for the best information.
