Academics

I am a 2nd-year student studying B.Tech in Information Technology. In my Department all the teachers and faculties are excellent. The maximum of them are Ph.D holders and Master's. They all are very friendly. Other dept faculties are also very friendly and educated all of them are Ph.D holders and Master's Degrees. I think our curriculum is updated and includes all the recent technologies like AI/ML, Web/App development, DevOps etc. From 1st year onwards students start learning DSA and Development which will be very helpful for there upcoming years.

My college experience was average.

Academics

The academics at the college are decent but not exceptional, with a mixed quality of instruction and curriculum rigor. While some courses and professors stand out positively, others lack depth and engagement, resulting in an average learning experience. Overall, the college provides a satisfactory academic environment, but there is room for improvement.

As usual, as per engineering college, you have to do your own study. There are some faculty who are supportive but you have to do it all on your own. About the exam, there are 4 CA exams and 1 main semester exam after six months. The first 2 CA exams are more important for attendance.

Have a question related to AEC Asansol ?

cain i get AEC instrumentation with rank 2400 ST(p)

Hello Aspirant,

We all know that since the official cut-off details from the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), hasn't released till now, it's quite impossible for anyone to make any accurate remark about the precise cut-off marks for this year of any college.

So I would like to recommend you to go through this following Careers360 article:

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/assam-cee-cutoff

https://engineering.careers360.com/exams/assam-cee

Though the cut-off marks will vary every year depending upon several determining factors (like number of appeared canditates, number of successful candidates, total number of available seats, highest marks of ACEE 2022, difficulty level of question paper etc), still as per our assumption and after thoroughly analysing the previous year's cut-off details it can be definitely estimated that since you're an ST(P) category student you've enough possibilities to get admitted in your desired college i.e. Assam Engineering College, Guwahati in instrumentation department.

You can also get chance in other departments in this renowned institutions like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunication etc.

You can also check in other Government and Private Engineering colleges in your state, follow the link for this:

https://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-engineering-colleges-in-assam

Hope you'll get benefitted with the answer. If you still have any question you can easily ask in the comment section, I will definitely answer.

Wish you all the best for your future.

Thanks for asking query

Hi,

Firstly, Asansol Engineering college :

• Location is decent, in the heart of the city.

• Teaching style is good, but at the end of the day you have to study on your own as well.

• Placement cell is very active, students of CS and IT branches get job offers from TCS, IBM etc.

• WBJEE cutoff trend -

WBJEE
Round 2019 Cut-off by rank 2020 Cut-off by rank 2021 Cut-off by rank
1 17938 23792 19174
2 24150 - 28641
3 24357 - 31878

Now, BC Roy :

• Location is in the outskirts of the city, in a bit isolated place - which is the case of most engineering colleges here in West Bengal.

• Teaching is decent, but placement is average. They try to bring good companies, though.

• WBJEE cutoff trend -

WBJEE
Round 2019 Cut-off by rank 2020 Cut-off by rank 2021 Cut-off by rank
1 21699 21745 17814
2 27290 - 25477
3 28654 - 25477

In my opinion Asansol Engineering College is better.
