GCETTS Serampore Facilities

The Government College of Engineering Textile Technology, Serampore offers many facilities for students and staff. The GCETTS facilities include hostels, a library, a playground, and many more. There is a Handloom Museum in the Engineering College where various types of handloom designs, their procedure and details of the handlooms are displayed. The college offers sports facilities to improve the physical health of the students. The details of the GCETTS facilities are given below.

Boys Hostel
The college offers a four-storey hostel facilities for boys. The GCETTS hostel has the required facilities for the comfort of the students.
Girls Hostel
The Girls' hostel is under consideration and will be constructed soon. Depending on the number of available seats, hostel accommodations are offered. A hostel committee made up of the superintendent, staff members, and students control the hostel and its mess.
Library
The Central Library has a collection of about 28,000 books. In addition to a substantial collection of reference materials and textbooks, the library has access to numerous databases and extensive backfiles covering numerous academic disciplines. Libsys-7 is in charge of maintaining the barcode-enabled, fully automated library bibliographical database.
I.T Infrastructure
The college has good infrastructure facilities. The GCETTS IT Lab is equipped with computers that have different applications installed on them as well as the equipment needed for the computer lab, giving students access to hands-on learning about computers.
Laboratories
The college offers department based laboratories to the students. The GCETTS laboratories include fibre science laboratory, spinning laboratory, fabric manufacturing laboratory, CAD and numerical analysis laboratory and many more.
Wifi
The college provides wifi facilities for the students and staff.
Gym
The GCETTS has gym facilities so that students can workout and improve their physical health.

College Infrastructure

When I was studying in the college, the infrastructure was good, but not excellent. They have improved the infrastructure. Our laboratory was very well maintained. Wifi was very good. Smart classrooms were present.
