I want to study MBA Finance, my CAT 2024 percentile is 87.01 with DILR 68.62 percentile and NMAT score is 233 with QA 68 percentile. I have applied in GIM GOA, GLIM CHENNAI, TAPMI, NIA PUNE, NIBM PUNE, FORE SCHOOL, XIM B. What should be my preference of choice, please guide.

    Hello,

Given your profile, here’s a suggested preference order:

    1. TAPMI – Strong in finance with good placement records, better suited for your profile.
    2. GIM Goa – Good reputation in finance and decent placement options.
    3. XIMB – Known for excellent management programs, though finance may be secondary.
    4. GLIM Chennai – A reputable B-school, but placements in finance are more moderate.
    5. FORE School – Solid in overall management but finance-specific options may be limited.
    6. NIBM Pune – Good for banking and finance but may not be as high-ranked.
    7. NIA Pune – More focused on the insurance sector, which may not align with your preference.

Focus on your interest in finance, and placement support when finalizing your choices.

    Hope it helps !

Hi..my cat score is 64... i have 8 years experience as an architect my tenth , twelth marks are 88% and 78% respectively and cgpa of 6.7 from NIT . what are my chances to get into a reputed college... and can you suggest me possible options

A score of 64 marks in CAT would likely fall around the 85th percentile depending on the difficulty of the exam and the overall performance of candidates in this year.

So,it is highly unlikely that you will receive a call from any of the IIMs as the required percentile for an IIM call is typically much higher, usually ranging from 90% and above, especially for top IIMs like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta.

If you are looking for MBA programs, consider exploring other B-schools that may have lower cut-offs for admission.

Here are some B-schools that may have lower cutoffs for admission:

SOIL Institute of Management: Has a CAT cut-off of 75 percentile

    T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal: Has an expected CAT cut-off of 85+

Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM): Has an expected CAT cut-off of 85+

MICA: Has an expected CAT cut-off of 85+

S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai: Has a CAT cut-off of 85 percentile
