Have a question related to IIFM Bhopal ?

I have got 53 percentile in CAT, my 10th score is 67.8 , 12th - 82.5 and graduation is 7.5 SGPA. can i get a call from XISS?

    Hello there,

With a 53 percentile in CAT , the chances of receiving a call from XISS (Xavier Institute of Social Service) may be limited, as their typical cutoff for CAT is generally higher than this, especially for their flagship programs like MBA or PGDM .

However, admission depends on several factors such as:

    1. Academic Profile : Your 10th (67.8%) , 12th (82.5%) , and graduation SGPA (7.5) are decent, and they can contribute positively to your application.

    2. Work Experience/Extra-curriculars : If you have any relevant work experience or strong extra-curricular achievements, it might improve your chances.

    3. Overall Application Strength : XISS also considers your overall profile, including your statement of purpose (SOP) and interview performance .

Though the CAT percentile is a key factor, you might still be considered based on your overall profile if you apply to their PGDM programs . It's always worth checking with the college directly for the specific eligibility criteria and cutoffs for the year you're applying.

I would recommend you to use CAT College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

With a CAT percentile of 77.38 and sectional scores of 61, 89, and 67, gaining admission to NIT Trichy's MBA program may be challenging, as the institute typically shortlists candidates based on their overall CAT percentile score, followed by an online interview.

There are several reputable MBA colleges that accept CAT scores in the 75-80 percentile range :

    • Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH)
    • IMT, Ghaziabad'
    • Great Lakes Institute of  Management

What is CAT and how it can help a student

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a highly competitive, national-level management entrance examination conducted annually in India. It is primarily used for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other top business schools for MBA/PGDM programs .

    Structure of CAT

CAT tests a candidate's aptitude through three sections:

    1. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) : Assesses language skills and comprehension.
    2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) : Tests analytical and problem-solving skills.
    3. Quantitative Ability (QA) : Evaluates mathematical and quantitative skills.

    How CAT Helps a Student

    1. Admission to Premier Business Schools :

      • CAT is the gateway to IIMs and other top institutions like FMS Delhi , SPJIMR , XLRI , MDI Gurgaon , and more.
      • These institutes offer globally recognized MBA/PGDM programs that open doors to lucrative career opportunities.
    2. Career Advancement :

      • MBA graduates from CAT-accepting institutes often secure roles in top organizations across industries like consulting, finance, marketing, operations, and IT.
      • High starting salaries, leadership opportunities, and strong career growth are key benefits.
    3. Skill Development :

      • Preparing for CAT improves logical thinking, analytical reasoning, time management , and decision-making skills.
      • These skills are invaluable in academic, professional, and personal contexts.
    4. Networking Opportunities :

      • Studying in a reputed B-school helps students build a strong professional network with peers, alumni, and industry leaders.
    5. Versatile Career Paths :

      • An MBA provides the flexibility to explore various industries, transition between fields, or even launch a start-up.
    6. Global Opportunities :

    Eligibility for CAT

    • A bachelor’s degree (any discipline) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
    • No age limit to appear for the exam.

    Who Should Take CAT?
