Hello Vaibhav,
You're in a good spot with a 97 percentile and solid IIIT/NIT/BIT Mesra options.
If your aim is software/tech industry (coding, product, startups, placements): opt for CSE at any of the IIITs at Dharwad, Ranchi, Bhagalpur or Manipur. Even tier-3 IIITs (CSE) will lead to better placements and internship opportunities in software roles than core branches at NITs. These will lead to better ROI than core branches, due to the tech placements and remote work.
Your next best option: IIIT ECE at Sri City or Una (ECE at Sri City has good industry engagement since it is close to Chennai & tech parks).
Recommended Prioritisation (if you are comfortable pursuing a tech career):

Hi,
List of some of the good colleges in Odisha for Masters in Business Administration includes:
Hope this information will help you
You're a general category candidate from Jharkhand, and you're aiming to get into BIT Mesra. Given your 73% in boards and 91 percentile in JEE Main, let's break down the eligibility criteria:
Eligibility Criteria
- JOSSA and CSAB:75% marks in Class 12 (or equivalent) for general category candidates.
- BIT Mesra Home State Criteria:60% marks in Class 12 (or equivalent) for general category candidates from Jharkhand.
Since you're from Jharkhand and meet the 60% home state criteria, you're eligible for admission to BIT Mesra.
Further Process
1. Registration: Register for JOSSA counseling and fill in your preferred colleges and branches.
2. Choice Filling: Fill in your choices carefully, as the seat allocation will be based on your choices and merit.
3. Seat Allocation:Wait for the seat allocation results. If you're allocated a seat in BIT Mesra, you'll need to accept it and pay the admission fees.
4. Document Verification: Report to the allocated institute for document verification and admission formalities.
Keep an eye on the JOSSA website for counseling schedules, choice filling, and seat allocation results. Also, ensure you meet the other eligibility criteria, such as having a valid JEE Main score.
To determine if you can get into BIT Mesra Ranchi during CSAB, let's break down the key factors:
- Your JEE Main 2025 score: You scored 84.271 percentile.
- Home state: You're from Jharkhand, which is the home state for BIT Mesra Ranchi.
- Last year's CSAB Round 2 cutoff: The cutoff for Chemical Engineering was around 255000 for Home State General.
Considering these factors, here are some insights:
- The cutoff for Chemical Engineering at BIT Mesra Ranchi varies from year to year, but it's generally high.
- As a Home State General candidate, you might have a slight advantage in terms of cutoff ranks.
- However, with an 84.271 percentile score, you might face stiff competition for Chemical Engineering at BIT Mesra Ranchi.
To give you a better idea, here are the *BIT Mesra cutoffs for 2024*:
- Round 1: 71878
- Round 2: 78741
- Round 3: 81198
- Round 4: 81587
- Round 5: 82308
Keep in mind that these cutoffs are subject to change and might not reflect the actual cutoffs for 2025.
Given your score and the cutoff trends, it's challenging to predict with certainty whether you'll get into BIT Mesra Ranchi during CSAB. However, you can consider the following options:
- Check the official CSAB website: For the latest updates on cutoffs and admission procedures.
- Apply through CSAB special rounds: If your percentile is slightly below the required cutoff, you might still have a chance.
- Explore other options: Consider other colleges or branches that might be a better fit for your score and preferences.
Stay positive, and I hope you get the desired outcome!
Hello
With an 84.271 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 , your eligibility for admission to BIT Mesra depends on the cutoff for your category and home state quota.
General Category : The usual cutoff for BIT Mesra is significantly higher, often above the 90-95 percentile for popular branches.
Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) : Cutoffs are lower and you may have a chance , specially under the home state quota.
You should check the official JEE Main cutoff for BIT Mesra once released and consider applying through the CSAB special rounds if your percentile is slightly below the required cutoff.
Hope this gives you the clarity you need.
