Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Kolkata offers admission at UG, PG and doctoral levels. MAKAUT University admissions are offered to its 15 courses namely B.Tech, M.Sc. M.Tech, Ph.D, and others. MAUKAT admission to B.Tech programmes is offered through a state-level entrance examination- WBJEE. Candidates desirous of MAKAUT University admissions to PG courses like M.Tech Bioinformatics, M.Tech Information Technology, M.Tech Industrial Engineering and Management, and M.Sc. programmes must appear for West Bengal Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET).
MAKAUT University admission is done based on the student's performance in the WB PGET have to appear for a personal interview, and candidates with valid GATE scores will be given preference. Students seeking MAKAUT admission in M.Tech Biotechnology candidates need to appear for GAT-B conducted by the Regional Centre for Biotechnology. MAKAUT conducts an entrance exam for MAUKAT admission to Ph.D. programmes followed by a round of personal interviews.

The MAUKAT offers only three courses at the undergraduate level. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech Electronics Engineering VLSI Design and Technology and B.Tech Information Technology are offered for MAKAUT UG admissions. Candidates have to appear for the state-level entrance exam - WBJEE for admission in B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech Information Technology at the MAKAUT. The number of seats available for both these courses is 60 each.

Students seeking MAKAUT University B.Tech admission need to meet the eligibility criteria
Eligible students must fill out the WBJEE application form.
The students will have to appear for WBJEE conducted by WBJEEB.
When filling up the WBJEE application form, students must choose their preferred cities for exam centres.
Applicants have to appear for the exam for MAUKAT admission.
A merit list will be prepared by WBJEEB and students whose names will be on the merit list have to participate in the counselling process.
Students who will qualify for the WBJEE cutoff can only participate in WBJEE counselling.
Last, WBJEEB will release the final seat allotment list in an online mode and students will be called for the document verification process.
An important Note- 10% of the seats in all self-financed and technology colleges will be reserved for JEE Main candidates.
A total of 12 courses are offered for MAUKAT M.Tech admissions. Some of the courses offered for MAKAUT M.Tech admissions are M.Tech Bioinformatics, M.Tech Information Technology, M.Tech Industrial Engineering and Management and others. Candidates have to appear for WB PGET to get admission in a postgraduate course at MAUKAT. Students seeking admission must first meet the eligibility criteria and then appear for the exam. Students who clear the exam become eligible for MAUKAT M.Tech admissions.

Aspirants must check and fulfil the eligibility criteria before appearing WB PGET through which they can get admission in MAKAUT M.Tech courses.
Eligible candidates are required to fill the WB PGET application form in an online mode.
WB PGET will be conducted in three cities of West Bengal and candidates must fill their two preferred cities at the time of filling the application form.
After successful submission of the MAUKAT application form, candidates will be issued PGET admit cards to appear for the exam in an online mode.
WB PGET result is released in an online mode. Students can check their MAKAUT results by entering their application number and password.
Candidates who will qualify for the final merit list only be eligible for PGET counselling.
Students will participate in WB PGET counselling.
During the choice filling and locking process, students must give preference to MAUKAT for admissions.
After a seat is allotted to the candidate, he/she must visit the institute to complete admission formalities.
The last step is document verification and payment of the MAKAUT M.Tech fee.
Important Note: For M.Tech Industrial Engineering and Management, students need to appear for personal interview and preference shall be given to GATE qualified candidates.

The exam is conducted across 58 cities in India. Students must fill their preferred city while filling the application form.
Candidates who successfully submit the GAT-B application form will have to pay the MAUKAT application fee to be able to download the admit card in an online format.
GAT- B result is released in an online mode. It will be released in the form of scores, rank lists and merit lists based on the performance of the students in the exam.
Selected candidates will have to visit the university for verification of documents and payment of MAUKAT fees.
The university offers admission to courses at the postgraduate level. Candidates seeking admission must fulfil the MAKAUT eligibility criteria and check the seat intake.
