NIT Patna All Questions

No, there are no reserved seats in NIT Patna for the Bihar Combined Entrance Examination. NIT Patna is an autonomous institute which comes directly under MHRD and it has nothing to do with the state governement. The admission for undergraduate programs is done in NIT Patna solely on the basis of JOSAA counselling which takes admission through JEE MAIN score.

Well to answer the first part of your question, Bihar College of Engineering does not take admission on the basis of JEE MAIN.

For the second part of the question, again no!

You will not get admission in NIT Patna in any of the four year or five year program on your rank.

Well even with the home state quota it would be a little difficult to get NIT Patna for you even in the lower branches of Civil Engineering however you might get the integrated MSc programs run by NIT Patna in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the cut-off for these programs is very low. All the best for your admissions.

Well your percentile seems quite low and I don't think that you might have been alloted a seat in the first round of JOSAA in NIT Patna. Don't know if you are from home state quota or not but still that might not be of much help. The cut-off for NIT Patna is only going to go up because of it's recent developments in infrastructure and curriculum so if I were you, I wouldn't be sure about getting a seat.

The counselling works in this way that you are alloted your college as per your rank and the college you have arranged for the counselling session. Now if you have gotten NIT Patna ECE in the first round and you are going for the second round then at the minimum you will get NIT Patna ECE again if you don't get any other college mentioned above this. It is improbable that you will get admission in any of the branches at NIT Patna, since your percentile is a little low, even after considering your category provision. We check the previous years' cut offs and since this college is an esteemed one, the closing ranks are a bit higher for this college. So, I would suggest you to look for other options, like private institutions which give admission on the basis of Mains score. I see that you belong to sc category and you have scored 80 percentile and also you are home state. 

You want to join CSE in NIT Patna. If i see the previous year closing rankings then CSE branch closed for around 3500 rank and your rank is around 5000. So I think that it won't be possible for you to get a seat in CSE branch.

Both the colleges come in top 20 NIT's of India with all the facilities provided for students.But NIT Allahabad is the older one and has good ranking as compared to NIT Patna.NIT Allahabad has great alumni spread all over the world ,with decent placement and study culture as compared to NIT Patna.But as we go branch wise then Chemical in India has less scope ,while CSE is on top with the highest packages.It depends upon your interest too,if you are passionate about then surely go for chemical Allahabad but if not sure then CSE NIT patna will be a better choice as they have also good placement in CSE .I hope it helped

With your mentioned rank it is highly unlikely for you to get into NITs. You could still apply for the josaa counselling process and try your luck. But I would suggest you to try for state level engineering colleges which accept JEE main scores. You could get good colleges and your desired branch.
