Hi,

You need to mention your category rank as well so that we can provide closing ranks based on that rank. Since you did not mention any, I will assume that you are going for OPEN seat in NIT Srinagar. With AIR 124749 and OPEN Category you will not be able to get admission into NIT Srinagar. If you wish to know the result for OBC-NCL cutoffs then it is advised that you post a new question with relevant details.

You can use our College Predictor tool for JEE Mains to help you in finding college and branch of your choice based on your merits in the exam.

Good Luck

Hi

Your profile suggests that your home state is AP

It's quite difficult to predict because cutoff keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

******number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

****** number of available seats,

****** performance of different students in the examination,

****** the category you belong etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then

>>>>> With    35100 obc rank

You have low chance in nit srinagar for branches asked by you or any branch

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, under  other state closing rank was  16005 obc rank in NIT Srinagar and it was for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

This prediction is on the past year data basis but  cut closing rank for colleges changes every year depending upon factors like number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

Dear aspirant,

There is a very simple theory regarding branch sliding so let me tell you that branch sliding in any college would be allowed only if there are vacant seats left after the admission or somebody has left the institute after joining or they haven't joined.

If there is no seat available then branch sliding won't be possible in any college. So,many students think that they would take up any branch in college and after wards they would change their branch. Let me tell you it is very difficult in case of general category students.

For more information you can check out the link given below-

https://www.careers360.com/university/national-institute-of-technology-srinagar/amp

Hi

Your profile suggests that you are from jammu and Kashmir and thus eligible for home state quota in NIT Srinagar

I am assuming that you belong to general category

This is a bit difficult to predict the marks/percentile/rank required in JEE mains to get a seat as cut off  keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the jee main examination , number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

In round 6 of josaa counselling 2020 , 33374 was the closing rank for gender neutral for general category for home state in National Institute of Technology, Srinagar for computer science engineering

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

And to get around 33374 rank, you need at least around 97 percentile as per our rank predictor at

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

So, you must target at least around 97 percentile being from home state to be on the safer side

SLIET Longowal - Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology is a deemed to be university and is a government run university. It has NAAC B+ Accreditation and is approved by UGC and its NIRF ranking is 137th.

NIT Srinagar - National Institute of Technology is one of the most prestigious college in India and is a government college.
It offers 2 year M.Sc Chemistry course and fees is 1.76 lakhs.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.careers360.com/university/national-institute-of-technology-srinagar/amp

In terms of placement both has good placement record with 3.5-4 LPA package in M.Sc Chemistry.
Both have a very good infrastructure and their hostel have wifi, mess , cold drinking water and other facilitate. Ofcourse the weather of Srinagar is awesome that is an add on but considering the fees which is double of what SLIET charges, i would suggest you to go for SLIET as the facilities as well as placements are nearly same. But if you want a tag of NIT then you can go for it.

I hope this helps.

Hi aspirants

According to careers360, SLIET Longowal got 4.2 rating out of 5. And the placements Rating as 3 out of 5. In 2019 Number of companies visited SLIET is  44 Number of students placed is 192 and Average salary offered to the students is  4 LPA .

According to careers360 NIT Srinagar got 3.9 rating out of 5. And placement rating as 3.5 out of 5.Highest Package Offered through the Campus Placements of 2020 is Rs. 22 LPA  .

Both college are good in infrastructure and good placements results. But comparing placements rating NIT is slightly edge over than SLIET.

Overall a nice experience
