Camellia School of Engineering and Technology (CSET), Barasat, is an AICTE-approved engineering college with a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. CSET's admission process is such that it selects good and meritorious candidates for its different engineering courses. The institute gives major preference to national and state-level entrance examination performance for admissions.
For B.Tech courses, CSET takes JEE Main and West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) scores. These tests are usually held in the first six months of a year. For M.Tech courses, West Bengal Post Graduate Entrance Test (WB PGET) scores are taken into consideration. The admissions process typically starts after the publication of results of these entrance examinations.
The general eligibility requirements for B.Tech courses at CSET are to pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. For M.Tech courses, the candidates should hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline. The specific eligibility requirements can be different for various courses and are dependent on the norms of the regulatory authorities.
Application Process
Application for Camellia School of Engineering and Technology, Barasat, is different for different courses:
For B.Tech courses:
1. Pass JEE Main or WBJEE test.
2. Enroll in the respective counseling procedure (JoSAA for JEE Main or WBJEE counseling).
3. Select CSET and desired courses at the time of counseling.
4. If a seat is allotted, go to CSET for document verification and fee payment.
For M.Tech courses:
1. Clear the WB PGET exam.
2. Enroll through the counseling procedure carried out by the West Bengal authorities.
3. If selected, proceed with counseling and select CSET.
4. Finish the admission procedure at CSET if seated.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: CSET has six B.Tech courses with 383 seats in total. The admission is through JEE Main or WBJEE marks. The courses are:
Applicants should have passed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths and secured a valid rank in JEE Main or WBJEE to secure admission.
M.Tech: CSET conducts an M.Tech course in Civil Engineering with 18 seats. Admission to the course depends on WB PGET scores. Applicants should possess a B.E./B.Tech degree in the concerned area to be admitted.
Diploma: CSET also provides diploma courses in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering, with 60 seats each. Diploma course admission could be different from B.Tech and M.Tech courses.
