Structure of the college is not so good as it's an institute of hotel management and catering technology Mumbai and everyone knows the fact that there is place constraint in Mumbai so keeping this fact in mind the college is still do's much better
The academics at the college no doubt very good as all the teachers in the campus hold PHd degree and also the chef's teach bakery are very good and helping and acquires good skills as also they are well worse with the equipment.
IHM Mumbai is ranked to be the second best government college so the campus really provides very good placements as all the top hotels visits the campus namely Oberoi Taj the Leela palace and a lot of luxury properties also ITC Maurya comes to the college.
The institute of hotel management, Mumbai has not got a very good infrastructure & also the college bakery classrooms lacks in air conditioner but the college has got a computer lab which can accommodate a group of students at the institute being a government college ranked ad second it's quite ok
The academic at institute of hotel management Mumbai is very good as the teachers there have PhD degree & also holds a lot & lot of experience as all the teachers are highly educated & can teach all the subjects & helps the students a lot
Teh placement at institute of hotel management, Mumbai is good as it's a second ranking government college so all the luxury 5 star top rated properties comes here to hire the students & also oberoi , Taj ,Leela , itc comes to interview the students
Infrastructure - Average , Facilities - good , Equipment - good . Classes - 2 star , Laboratory/ practice hall - good , libraries(for fun) - very good , Sports centre - 1 star , hostels - 3 star . The most important one Wifi - 1 star(the worst). over all i give it a 2 star(because livable) . When it comes to living space hygienic an cleanliness - average.
I was studying B.Sc in Hospitality and hotel administration (BHM) , Because no only me , but my family also though I would do good in this industry that hitting my head and struggling with science and medicine. Even though I was only good at on or 2 topics in those subjects
The placements were good , and a good reason to skip classes the also get attendance but it was also a good once in a life time experience of you started working right after your B.Sc . And not just that it was more fun when in the starting you didn't get any offer letter but in the end the offer letters just keep coming in . It shows how good you are in a way.
There was big value for money , charging for everything like attendence but in the end the money was used for our purpose,so cannot blame. There was always pay for that and pay for this situation,I hope you get what I am saying .
It few places is was the best and in few places it was the worst an in when they were many happy event where we could deepen our bounds with friends and and lecturers, except principal. As in worst cases the rules of college were a not that bad and not that good either ,you can say college life was fun but hostel Life was prison to be honest . But over all campus life was good thank to the college family. The students supported each other a lot not just only class but all the classes .
I will recommend this college because of it lecturers and bonding capabilities, but when it come to other reasons not at all . And I will recommend this college for gold placements but not for its lack for co-ordination.
The college has necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments. The building is very clean and hygienic. The place is very spacious. The college also provides wifi facilities, and a playground for students as well.
The quality of teaching is good. The teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable. The curriculum is updated every once in a while. The teachers are available all the time for any kind of assistance and guidance.
The highest salary package offered was 40k-50k per month. The placement process was very challenging. The average salary package offered was 15k-20k per month. Around 70 percent of the students were placed.
The campus life was good. The teachers and staff was very nice and supportive.
Well number of classrooms were less and not well maintained with damaged furnitures but it's getting improved recently new classroom is been made , college do need better canteen and a stationary in the the campus.
It's good. Faculty is really great and supportive, due to high numbers of students in a batch sometimes it might get overcrowded but overall it's really good only if you concentrate .All the best guys
Lots of company visits for campus placement so opportunities are there just need proper management from college side so that coordination and equal opportunities can be given to each students appearing for interviews
Well for a college like this the fee is very reasonable, I was in hostel and for that location and facilities in Mumbai the amount was nothing at all. Though need few more Ks for the city expenses, "Mumbai"
Well that's my favourite column it was a great experience with great people and thousands of memories, many festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm, Mess food was horrible but still can enjoy if u have better company.
As any college graduates would say It was like a dream which is over now. But have lots of memories and learning which will help me in personal and professional life . If you wish to join be focused and you will do great.
Everything is good. The college is clean and hygienic. All the things are updated as per the post covid norms. Competitions are events are conducted throughout the year to boost the co curriculum of students
Yes. The curriculum is updated regularly and group activities are conducted often to prepare the student for the industry with proper hands on knowledge of the industry. The quality of teaching is also fine and the teachers are always there to help the students
Amazing placement opportunities. The placement coordinator is very helpful and always working work to provide the best of opportunities to the students. They make sure that all the students get placed in the best of companies.
Yes. The fees is economical and the college caters to all kinds of people. This the best part as compared to the private colleges across the country.
It was fun all in all. Cannot say much as I was a covid student and most of my college life was spent at home. But whatever time I got in college, it was an amazing journey
Yes it has all the necessary infrastructure ,and equipments various facilities were there in the hostel including wifi connection, food ,etc living spaces was clean and daily maid use to come and clean the rooms and the common area .
I have completed my graduation right now.The quality of teaching was good they used to take proper classes. The curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field.I prepared accordingly
There were many hotels , corporate and retail companies who came for the interview and college made sure that everyone get placed accordingly . Highest package was around 4.5L around.Average was around 3L annually
1.3L which includes college fees , IGNOU fees and if you include the stay in Mumbai then it would be 2.3 L yearly as 13k is the minimum pay for pg in Mumbai. So, it's costly but it depends upon the location.
No it does not have all the things required as the college is less on infrastructure the classrooms are non ac as well the bakery also nd too the college has no proper hall for functions and events they are been done kn the ground only..
Talking about academic it's the best as it's the second ranking college all the faculty members has an experience of atkeast around 15 years all the teachers there are majorly a ohd holder of there own subjects which gives a vast clarity of the subjects
Placement at ihm mumbai is good as being the second ranking college all the top hotels chain like itc Leela taj Oberoi approaches the college on the first priority and takes aways a lot of students. Than only they ho to some other colleges as well the corporate company comes to the college too.
It's not good as an investment part as being a government college it charges much much higher prices and too does not match with the facility it provides in that money no allowance the fee is high if we talk about the money value it's not worth it
Campus has really got a good campus life as the events are organised not much but yes ethical way cultural approach but during events students are asked to cook for the staff as well for the whole college which is again not good
College is good for placement but lacks a lot in infrastructure
All the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment is there in the college like classrooms with projectors, sports centers, hostels (although it's allocated to the students who are in the 2nd year and above), WiFi. They are all in use and well maintained. You won't find any college who maintains cleanliness and food hygiene at it's best.
I'm doing B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration and I can say that the quality of teaching is good. The faculty knows how to maintain perfect balance of education and entertainment in the class. Sometimes you won't even know how quick the class has ended. The curriculum is updated and faculty's teaching includes all the recent development in the hospitality industry and it will help you to compete with the real world means it makes you job-ready.
When it's 'bout the placement then you are reading about the college which is among top 2 IHM colleges in India that provides placements to almost every student who appears for it. Every year more than almost 90% of student get placement. The average salary depends but most of the time it around 20k - 35k INR. This is what you get in India if you are joining the industry at entry level.
The course may cost you around 1 lac with 10k or 15k up and down each year. I know it's sounds an expensive course but this is what all other HM course charges you at reputed colleges. And it does worth it as it is a professional course and what this course offers you to learn.
I must say this is the best IHM college in India. If you get a chance to choose one then I must say you have to choose IHM Mumbai. College hosts various competitions and among them Cornucopia is the most famous event. Its a food event where you showcase your ideas of dishes and you may also find appearance of various actors and artists. The faculty and kakas (support staff) are affable in nature and you get liberty to do anything with respect to curriculum or other activities.
From fresher's party in top clubs in Mumbai to Farewell. It's all glamours as the city Mumbai is. And in between the education and experience you get in the college is incomparable. And as you are in Mumbai it automatically becomes more exciting and it becomes more exciting as you also get a chance to present your talent and your college in various other competition with different colleges.
Yes, the college has all the required facilities. starting from the kithen area to the quantity food control area, aso the accomodations and housekeeping part. Even though the college is huge and has the best facilities but the college infrastructure is pretty old. It has no gym but the library is great and has a good wifi connection all over.
I'm studying BHM in hotel and hospitality administration and the reason is I always wanted to be a chef. The faculty in IHM mumbai is great and experienced. They guide you through and through. the curriculum is updated and includes all the new innovation that is going on in the field. Yes, if the curriculum is up to date the it will definiteoy make us job-ready.
IHM Mumbai is one of the best colleges in India. Placements are not much of an issue. All types of Hotel companies do come for campusing there. 95% students get placed until somone has plans to go abroad or masters. The salary package caries from company to company, basically from 1.5L/annum to 5L/annum. The best part is placements takes place from afternoon and one can take his own time to get ready and prepare himself.
The fee range is not that high. It ranges from 1.2L to 1.5L per annum that means it includes both the semesters. Seeing all the factors - faculty, facility, infrastructure and everything. Yes, I feel it is worthy of the amount paid. In the end, the placements are good too.
Different college function takes place - Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, holi. Best part is all the students are involved in it and is huge. Also the most important thing that IHM mumbai is famous for is Cornucopia, a prestigious food festival. This is where one learns the Hotel industry well.
Personally, my college life is going great. Being a part of the bakery team in Cornucopia, had it's own ups and downs but overl it was a good experience. The seniors are really kind and helpful. Please don't keep any misconception of ragging. It is quite the opposite. Overall, the college life is great there.

It would have been easier to Answer your question If you would have specified the course name in which you are interested and also the category you belong to. But let me tell you that you need to clear NCHMCT JEE for getting admissions into IHM, Mumbai. The expected cutoff for 2020 for open ( general ) category is 115-123 marks outoff 200 marks. But, the cut-offs vary every year based on certain factors. So prepare accordingly.
