Hello ,
It will be hard to get top branch for a state entrance rank above 4k.
If you have reservation then it will help you to get CSE. Better look out for Information technology l. Both IT and CSE are similar except some subject will differ in 3rd n 4rth year.
You can study them in your free time. After IT, you can choose ECE.
Qualifying cutoff is still now known and it is Highly unpredictable because there was lot change and delay by months in the educational process and it effected candidate performance too.

The order in which you have written in the query is the right order. Computer Science Engineering is the best branch in CUSAT.But taking a branch just on the basis of popularity is not a good option.If you are interested in Mechanical and if you will take CSE then trust me you will find it very hard to spend 4 years of college.So go for branch in which you you are interested in.

Having a rank below 200 (general category) in CUSAT CAT can ensure a seat in the prestigious Naval Architecture and Ship Building.
And as you've not mentioned your category,
I'm considering you to be general category.
So being a general category student you have less chances to get admission there.
But you have a reserved category,
Then you might have a good chance of getting admission there.
But don't worry,
You'll get chance in other branches.

Since you have not mentioned your category I am assuming that you are from General Category.

According to previous year statistics the cutoff rank for Electrical and Electronics Engineering in CUSAT Kalamaserry is around 2000 (state merit) and 3000 (all india merit) hence the chances for you to get enrolled in this course is less.

As you have mentioned that you have secured 8519 rank CUSAT. Sorry to say but it seems difficult to get admission in CU through CS or electronics branch because considering the previous years cutoffs the cutoff for these branches would lie under 2000. If you belong to kerala and any reserved category then there might be chances.

As you know cutoff varies from year to year, The cutoff depends on different factors like total number of candidates appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the CUSAT CAT 2020 entrance examination, number of seats available in the CUSAT CAT 2020 participating colleges, performance of the candidates in the entrance exam, previous year cutoff trends, number of seats reserved for the SC/ST/ PWD candidates.

According to the previous year cutoff trends CUSAT CAT for your rank range you may have no chance to get admission.

Cochin University college of Engineering, Kuttanad closing rank is 6,800 for branch Information Technology.
