With the J&K migration quota in Maharashtra, your chances of getting into top colleges like COEP (College of Engineering Pune) and VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) will depend on your MHT CET percentile and the specific cutoffs for the J&K migrant category. Historically, students with percentiles above 95+ have had a strong chance of securing seats in these prestigious colleges, especially in high-demand branches like Computer Science or Electronics.
However, cutoffs can fluctuate yearly based on factors such as the number of applicants and seat availability. Given your reservation status, your eligibility for top colleges improves, but achieving a high percentile is still crucial for securing competitive branches.
Regarding the application process, yes, you must select the "J&K Migrant" category while filling out the MHT CET application form and during CAP (Centralized Admission Process) counselling. This ensures you are considered under this specific reservation category, which is designed to provide special admission benefits to students from J&K. Make sure to provide the necessary documentation during the verification process to confirm your eligibility for the quota.
hope this helps you!!

Hello,
In general, COEP (College of Engineering Pune) has specific eligibility criteria for lateral entry students. Traditionally, many institutions in Maharashtra have reserved lateral entry opportunities primarily for students from within the state due to state domicile requirements. However, policies can vary and sometimes institutions might offer lateral entry options for students from other states as well.
For the most accurate and current information, you should directly check COEP’s official website or contact their admissions office. They can provide details about eligibility criteria for out-of-state diploma holders like yourself.

Yes, as a student pursuing a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Jammu, you are generally eligible for lateral entry into a B.Tech program. Lateral entry schemes typically allow diploma holders to enter directly into the second year of a B.Tech course, provided they meet specific eligibility criteria set by the universities or colleges.
Here are some common eligibility requirements:
Minimum Marks : Most institutions require a minimum percentage in your diploma course, usually around 50-60%.
Entrance Exams : Some universities or states may require you to take an entrance exam specifically for lateral entry admissions, such as the Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) or other state-level exams.
Accredited Diploma : Ensure your diploma is from a recognized institution or board.
Relevant Stream : Your diploma should be in a relevant engineering stream, which in your case, Computer Engineering, aligns well with a B.Tech in Computer Science or related fields.
Check specific requirements of the institutions you are interested in and prepare accordingly. This pathway can effectively bridge your diploma studies with a full-fledged engineering degree.
hope this helps you!!

The infrastructure of the college is old since British raaj. It's really very peaceful to roam around the campus with your friends while enjoying the greenery of the campus. It has many old buildings and main building is one of them.
my college had very nice campus and the infrastructure is mixture of old and modern day infrastructure, the classrooms are good and have projectors in it, college have a library and the laboratories are good and have good education equipment's and the infrastructure is well maintained.
My college COEP is great. Personally my experience is about 6years 4years of UG and 2 years of PG. College infrastructure is good but old because college is construed by British before the independence of country. Facilities like digital class room, sports ground, indoor games, extra cericular activities. Hostels are available for the students. Which are neet and clean. After Every 2 days hostel coridoor is cleaning.
