Hello Anushka,

With 97 percentile in MHT CET , your chances of getting admission to COEP (College of Engineering, Pune) for the B.Plan (Bachelor of Planning) course are quite good. COEP is highly competitive, especially for top courses, but B.Plan typically has slightly lower cutoffs compared to B.Tech programs.

Key Points:

  1. General Cutoff Range: For B.Plan at COEP, the cutoff percentile for general category students usually falls around 95-98 percentile , depending on the year's competition.

  2. Category Impact: If you belong to a reserved category (OBC, SC, ST, etc.), your chances increase significantly due to lower cutoffs.

  3. Seat Allocation: Ensure you participate in the CAP rounds for admission and select COEP as your top preference.

Keep an eye on the official DTE Maharashtra counseling updates for exact cutoff trends. Your score gives you a strong position!

  2. Eligibility Criteria:

    • You must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects.

    • A minimum percentage as required by COEP for your category (General, OBC, SC, etc.).

  3. Entrance Exam: You must qualify for MHT CET or JEE Main as COEP admission is based on these entrance exams.

Check the official admission guidelines of COEP for clarity and ensure your NIOS certificate is recognized.

Hi,

For admission to the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), your JEE Main Paper 1 score is crucial as it is one of the primary criteria for B.Tech admissions. However, if you have a strong score in Paper 2 (B.Arch), it won't directly impact your B.Tech admission. COEP primarily considers JEE Main Paper 1 scores for B.Tech admission

That said, having a good score in Paper 2 can still be beneficial if you decide to apply for B.Arch programs at other institutions or if you're considering a career in architecture.

Hello,

Apply For Government seat in COEP Technological University (B.Tech) at a reasonable fee.

Admission process:

It is conducted either through MHT CET or JEE Main scores based on domicile. State quotas are also available to all the students who hold their domicile in Maharashtra.

Category reservation:

A category of reserved category- those who fall under the reservation schemes like OBC, SC, ST, EWS, gets relaxation of the cutoff and tuition fees remission.

Fees

Government seats are available at COEP at much lower prices than private colleges. Reserved category candidates are exempted from additional fees.

Your chances depend on your MHT CET percentile/JEE Main rank and your category. If you have scored above the cutoff, then you can get a seat under the state or All-India quota. If you provide the above details, I can help you analyze your chances. Additionally, using College Predictor tools can give a precise idea of which colleges you might get based on previous cutoffs.

Hello,

Based on previous years' JEE Mains cutoffs and trends, here’s an analysis for securing the COEP Pune CSE branch with 200 marks in the EWS category:

  • COEP CSE Cutoff (EWS): The cutoff for the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch at COEP under the EWS category typically ranges between 99+ percentile. This translates to a JEE Mains score of approximately 190-210 marks, depending on difficulty.
  • State Quota Advantage: If you are a Maharashtra candidate, the state quota significantly lowers the cutoff compared to the All India quota.
  • Rank Projection: With 200 marks, you can expect a percentile of 98.5-99.3, placing you within a competitive rank for EWS at COEP.
  • Preparation Boost: Ensure strong accuracy in high-weightage topics (Maths: Coordinate Geometry, Physics: Modern Physics, Chemistry: Organic).

Your score is competitive for COEP CSE (EWS), but exact admission depends on annual variations in cutoffs.

Hope it helps !

Hello there,

With 200 marks in JEE Mains under the EWS category, you have a strong chance of getting admission to the CSE branch at COEP Technological University (formerly College of Engineering Pune) . However, this depends on the cutoff trends for the year, which vary slightly based on factors like competition and seat availability.

Recent Trends:

  1. CSE Cutoff Rank : The closing rank for CSE at COEP for the EWS category typically ranges between 1,000 and 2,500 (AIR) . Your JEE Main score of 200 might place you within this range, but the exact rank can vary yearly.

  2. State Quota : If you are from Maharashtra and applying through the state quota, your chances improve as COEP gives preference to state domicile candidates.

    What to Do:
  • Participate in the JoSAA counseling process and select COEP CSE as a preferred choice.

  • Keep an eye on the official cutoff data released after each counseling round to assess your position.

Hello,

Based on the previous year's cutoff trends for JEE Mains , a score of 200 marks may or may not be enough to secure a seat in the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch at COEP (College of Engineering Pune) under the EWS category. The cutoff can vary each year depending on factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates, and seat availability.

  • Previous Year Cutoff Trends for COEP (CSE) – EWS Category:

    • 2023: The opening rank for CSE in COEP under the EWS category was around 700-1000 (for home state candidates). The closing rank was slightly higher, around 1200-1400 .
    • 2022: Similar trends were observed with the EWS category cutoff for CSE being in the range of 800-1200 for Maharashtra state students.
    • 2021: In 2021, the rank cutoff for CSE in COEP under EWS was approximately 1000-1500 for Maharashtra residents.
  • Your Score of 200 Marks:

    • With 200 marks , you might be in the 5000-7000 rank range in JEE Mains (though this varies each year).
    • For EWS category at COEP, based on previous trends, you might be a bit outside the cutoff range for CSE, but this also depends on the number of candidates in your category and the overall difficulty of the exam.

Hope it helps !

With the J&K migration quota in Maharashtra, your chances of getting into top colleges like COEP (College of Engineering Pune) and VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) will depend on your MHT CET percentile and the specific cutoffs for the J&K migrant category. Historically, students with percentiles above 95+ have had a strong chance of securing seats in these prestigious colleges, especially in high-demand branches like Computer Science or Electronics.

However, cutoffs can fluctuate yearly based on factors such as the number of applicants and seat availability. Given your reservation status, your eligibility for top colleges improves, but achieving a high percentile is still crucial for securing competitive branches.

Regarding the application process, yes, you must select the "J&K Migrant" category while filling out the MHT CET application form and during CAP (Centralized Admission Process) counselling. This ensures you are considered under this specific reservation category, which is designed to provide special admission benefits to students from J&K. Make sure to provide the necessary documentation during the verification process to confirm your eligibility for the quota.

hope this helps you!!

Hello there,

With a 36 percentile in JEE Mains , securing admission into COEP (College of Engineering, Pune) is highly unlikely. COEP is a prestigious institute with competitive cutoffs, usually requiring significantly higher percentiles.

General Information:

  • COEP Cutoffs : Typically, COEP’s cutoffs for various branches are quite high, often in the range of 90+ percentile .

  • Alternative Options : You might consider exploring other engineering colleges with lower cutoffs or looking into private institutions and state-level colleges where the competition might be less intense.

Recommendations:

  • Check College Cutoffs : Look for specific cutoff trends from previous years for COEP.

  • Consider Other Colleges : Apply to other engineering colleges where the cutoffs are within your percentile range.

For admission to COEP, a much higher percentile is generally required, so focusing on other viable options would be advisable.

Hello,

In general, COEP (College of Engineering Pune) has specific eligibility criteria for lateral entry students. Traditionally, many institutions in Maharashtra have reserved lateral entry opportunities primarily for students from within the state due to state domicile requirements. However, policies can vary and sometimes institutions might offer lateral entry options for students from other states as well.

It is a good experience

College Infrastructure

The labs and their corresponding equipment are of the highest quality and majority of the faculty are experienced professionals. Classrooms are mediocre in terms of design and comfort as is the WiFi network. Libraries and sports facilities are good. Canteen is clean and hygienic however the Boat Club canteen could do with some work.

Best Engineering College Ever
