ECE branch recorded the highest placement rate of 92.31%. IT sector emerged as the top preference among the students. The highest package offered during NIT Jalandhar placements 2022 was INR 44 LPA and was made by Amazon..
If you are good in communication and circuits ece is a good choice. The scope of ECE is very high . You can join IT industry, airlines, telecommunication, etc. Indian armed forces also provides jobs for electronics and communication engineers.

Hope it helps you !!
Thanking you!
Have a great day!
Hello Pink,
ECE at NIT Jalandhar emphasises placement, and specifically in an IT company. As an ECE student, you'll be expected to perform very well in coding and other cse-related courses. Furthermore, the packages provided by core companies fall far short of what an ECE student would expect, which further reduces the appeal of ECE core.
NIT Jalandhar's electronics section has a total of 90 seats. Over the past three to four years, 80 to 85 students have received a placement offer, with 10-15 receiving multiple placement offers. Average annual pay is between 4.5 and 5 lacs (per annum).
Particulars | Data |
---|---|
Number of Students placed | 2400+ |
Highest Package | INR 28.5 LPA |
Average Package | INR 9.3 LPA |
Lowest Package | INR 3.6 LPA |
Hope this helps,
Good luck.

NIT Silchar is ranked at 46 while NIT Jamshedpur is ranked at 79.
Both the NITs are equally good and have very good facilities and placements. you can take admission in either of them according to the branch you choose.
Please think before you take a branch. If you are interested in mechanical engineering, then please go for NIT Jalandhar mechanical engineering. If you are interested in electrical engineering, then please go for NIT Jamshedpur Electrical Engineering.
National Institute of Technology , Jalandhar has a higher ranking according to NIRF as compared to National Institute of Technology, Silchar.
NIT Silchar is a good decent college with good placements and very good college culture. Placements: Almost 95% of the students got placed from the electronics and communication engineering branch. The highest salary package offered was 18 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA.
but NIT Jalandhar and NIT jamshedpur is not good enough for ECE.
hole this will help you
all the best for your upcoming future

Hope this information helps you clear your doubt.
Dear Student,
When comparing CS with IT in India, I don't believe there is a significant difference in the syllabus. In contrast to CS students, IT students must study practically every subject. OS, Algo, DS, SP, and computer networks are a few examples.
The primary distinction between these two academic specialisations in foreign universities is that computer science students primarily concentrate on the technical aspects of software and their programming while IT students focus more on the selling of software products and gaining their knowledge in that field.
So, instead of choosing CS or IT by name in engineering institutions in India, consider the calibre of the teachers in each discipline before making a decision. If not, they will simply verify your knowledge and choose you based on it when there are campus placements, whether you are an IT student or a student of computer science.

Hello,
Practically speaking, NIT Jalandhar is much better than GNDU in regards to placements and MS/PhD opportunities. If I would be in your position, I would definitely choose NIT Jalandhar even if I don't get Computer Science. Because, in tier-1 universities, one can seat for IT companies even if they are from Core branches.
However, you can go through the college information and decide according to you at the end:
1. NIT Jalandhar
https://www.careers360.com/university/dr-b-r-ambedkar-national-institute-of-technology-jalandhar
2. GNDU
https://www.careers360.com/university/guru-nanak-dev-university-amritsar
NIT Jalandhar has good infrastructure with well-developed labs and classrooms. There are three hostels for first-year students: BH1, BH2, and BH5. BH1 and BH2 are better than BH5 because the food and facilities are much better in BH1 and BH2, but BH1 and BH2 are four-seater, while BH5 is a two-seater.
Very good college . Personally I like the college because of everything which you need full fill in this college college infrastructure is so good library, Gym outdoor indoor all type of game available
The Infrastructure is good all the necessary facilities are there. Classrooms are digital, fully air conditioned as well. Hostels are also big enough for living. Mess is also good as compared to the other NIT's.
