Thapar has the most wonderful campus. Such a beauty to live within. It has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities starting from labs and classrooms to sports area and a market for daily essentials. We have a good working wifi that us available 24/7.Cleaning staff makes sure the campus looks well eveytime.
I am studying computer engineering because I have a strong interest in this field. The quality of teaching is awesome with the knowledgeable professors. They encourage hands on learning, making complex topics, easy to understand yes, our curriculum is refreshed almost every year before the starting of a new semester. what has its curriculum designed according to the industry requirements, making us job ready.
The quality of placements have been very good with an increase in placements. This year. Almost 85%. Students were placed. The average pay was around 12 to 13 LPA.The highest salary package went up to 1crore. The placement process is very easy and pleasant. Also, there is a specific cell designed to prepare students for placements.
For a year around, it is 7 to 8 lakhs. Yes of course, I feel my money is going into some words because of the fruitful results. It will give me at the end of four years also, I am glad I’m living in such a campus, where I have all the facilities hand ready any moment, any time.
My college campus is a next. Has a next level seen beauty from lake points pretty Gardens for evening walk and a skywalk just to refresh your mind. It’s designed at four level also wonderful labs, modern infrastructure, labs and classrooms all AC well furnished, even the hostels have AC rooms and modern infrastructure. The campus is definitely a safe place. Also, there are always Ambulance and medical facilities available even during the night.
Thapar is a highly recommended college. That’s all what I want to say.
The institute offers classrooms equipped with projectors, providing a conducive learning environment. Laboratories are well-furnished and equipped with functional equipment, particularly in departments like school of chemistry and biochemistry.
The institute boasts a qualified faculty base. Faculty members are dedicated to providing quality education and are accessible to students for academic guidance. The curriculum being thought and the kind of teachers they have are good.
There are not much placements with regard to school of chemistry and biochemistry. Only one or two companies comes comes and that too Institutes.. Other than that the university offers wide opportunities in the field of research.
Evaluating the value for money at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) involves analyzing the balance between the educational costs and the benefits derived, such as academic quality, research work and infrastructure.
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) offers a vibrant and enriching campus life that extends beyond academics, fostering personal growth and community engagement.
The School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) is recognized for its dynamic and research-intensive environment. You can learn a lot related to research field and whether you want to persue Phd or not..
The infrastructure of college is great. The library is amazing it is designed in such a way that it helps the students to learn more. The canteens are awesome. The labs and classrooms are also good. Great.
The curriculum is designed to enhance the learning of students. It is designed as per each individual. It helps students be industry ready and have a complete knowledge and understanding of concepts.
The placements offered are great and give students a great opportunity for working with best professionals at best companies. It helps students to crack the papers of various top mncs. Great placements.
College infra is good with all the necessary labs equipments shops lecture theatres and what not. Compared to the fee charged at-least the infra is great and good in the college…… One of the best experiences till now.
The acads are also great. With industry driven subjects and the new adaptations made every year and sem the subjects taught are just industry perfect. The grading system also is good since its relative.
Being in first year i havent had any personal placement experiences till now but listening to seniors and alumni if you are good in acads and overall activities there are high chances of getting placed at a very good lpa
Fees is a bit on high side but infra and other things are also good. Still the fee approaches approximately 30 lacs for the full degree with is among the highest in Indian Private Colleges…………………………..
Campus life is great fests and other societies are great. No ragging great senior junior interactions and all make the overall campus life worth experiencing and the great hostels make it a home away from home.
Many facilities provide by college lab is very good and working well, classroom is very good and library is also provided by college and you can take any book in your course. Many facilities provided in our hostel food is average and canteen is also available in our hostel medical facilities is also available in our hostel.
The teachers are qualified and supportive, and the teaching quality is decent. The curriculum is moderate industry-relevant but could benefit from more practical exposure. Semester exams are of moderate difficult.
The placement rate for the Computer Science course at our university is impressive, with approximately 80% of students successfully placed. The highest package offered was 60Lakhs the lowest range from 3-4Lakhs, and the average package stood at 5-6Lakhs.
The coursework is decent, they try to make them familiar with each technology one by one. Classrooms are good, and the campus is big. Hostels are also good but overpriced. The food in the mess is not very good and is also overpriced.
Faculty members are not very good, many of them lack practical exposure and just go by the book. No extra material will be taught by the faculty members, students have to do everything themselves. Most of them just read from the slides.
Placements are not good. They falsely advertise that their students get a 3 crore per annum salary package, but the reality is very different. The average salary package is 4 LPA. They provide internships, but many people lack the caliber to secure them.
Infrastructure of the college is just okay. Buildings look very old and don’t justify the fees charged. The Labs for our branch are the worst. Wi-Fi connectivity is good overall. The college library is decent. The classrooms are very nice up to 2nd year but after that we will get a normal school type classroom.
The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable but they don't have good teaching skills. The teaching quality is not good at all. They just come in the class for just formality. I am in the beginning of my 2nd year and till now I don't think the students are industry ready, but in the 2nd year, the college teaches us good skills in the labs.
Almost 50-60% students get placed in my branch. The highest package offered is 20 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA and the average package offered is 8 LPA. Getting Internship in robotics branch is not easy at all. You need to maintain 8+ CGPA to get an internship. 2-3% students get internships.
The first-year classrooms are really top-notch, and slowly the department classes are also reconstructed. CS/IT department classes are really good, just what a student can ask for. Overall, it has good infrastructure, but the college doesn’t have many buildings, which is the bad thing I see here. But overall, the buildings are fully developed.
Professors here are also just like in another college. A few are good, and a few are bad. Attendance is the main bad thing in this college, as we strictly need 75% attendance, which is almost like a course for students. But good professors increase attendance too if you request them. The curriculum was updated this year.
Thapar has an amazing placement when it comes to tech branches as the crowd is really good here. First of all, the major factor is the location, as it’s in Punjab, so more companies visit here. Societies are also active, which helps in having good peers working hard for placements.
Really good infrastructure. Newly built and renovated buildings. Good labs along with Ac. Hostels are really good, well built and with AC. Food is amazing as well. Canteens are good. Almost everything is connected online.
Good teachers and professors. They care about the students and are considerate of any issues you may face in college or outside of college. Very knowledgeable and good in teaching. We got great project mentors also
Placements are good, there is proper placement committee with teachers and professionals. The offers given are also quite good. Average CTC goes above 15 lacs. Most of the students get placed soon in the placement season
There's a lot of value for money. They give a lot of opportunities to students for growth and development, both inside and outside curriculum. There are so many activities happening like sports, plays, dances, etc
There's a fun and vibrant college life. So many extra curricular activities like dances, plays, sports happen. There are good canteens also with yummy food.
Our college authorities are working to provide a high-speed Wi-Fi network. Labs and classrooms are high-tech. The library has a book section. It has separate floors and rooms for students to sit and study well.
Though teachers are very helpful, the difficulty level of semester exams is very high. This course is very relevant. The difficulty makes you industry-ready. The pass percentage depends on how the whole class performs in difficult courses and the minimum percentage in easy courses.
Almost 95% of students got placed in this course. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft and Google. They provide placement offers. The average salary package offered ranges between 19 LPA to 20 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 1.5 crore per annum
Hello,
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Thapar University) offers B.E./B.Tech admissions through two modes:
For B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering, admissions consider NEET scores or Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Thapar University does not conduct a separate entrance exam for these programs.
Hope it helps !

Hello Aspirant,
Thapar University is one of the most renowned Universities in India. In terms of quality of education, holistic development, healthy student culture, placement package, and even the fee. But as far as I know, it is mostly known for its B.Tech courses. I would suggest that if you have other options like DU, Christ University, or any other central university, maybe consider them before resorting to Thapar University.
Hope this helps
