BE	Candidates must pass class 12th with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects namely Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject. Valid score in JEE Mains Examination.
B.Tech Biotechnology	Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Valid score in NEET examination
B.Tech Biomedical Engineering
BTech (Lateral Entry)	Must have diploma, minimum of 3-years duration after matriculation from Polytechnic College with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate. Must have qualified LEET-TU with at least 20% aggregate marks and (15% for SC/ST candidates).

Thapar University BE/BTech Admission Process

Appear in the JEE Mains exam and obtain a valid score.
Fill Thapar University application form.
The university selects candidates for admission based on JEE Main scores.
Candidates selected need to participate in university counselling.
Final selection of candidates is done based on their performance in the entrance exam, past academic performance along with several other criteria

ME/ M.Tech	BE/B.Tech degree with at least 60% aggregate marks from a recognised university. + Candidates should have valid scores in GATE.
MCA	Bachelor degree of minimum 3-years duration in any discipline from a recognised University with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate. Mathematics must be studied at 10+2 level or at graduation level.
MBA	Graduate Degree in any discipline with 50% aggregate marks. Valid marks in CAT/ NMAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ SNAP or TMAT (Thapar Management Aptitude Test) scores.
MA Psychology	A bachelor's degree in Psychology, or in Home Sciences/ Nursing/ Human Development or a minimum 3-year B. Tech programme, with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST) and Psychology as a subject at the undergraduate level is required.
M.Sc	Bachelor’s degree in Science of minimum 3-years duration (10+2+3 year’s pattern) with 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate from a recognised university.

Thapar University MTech Admission Process

Appear for GATE and obtain a valid score.
Next, fill the TIET Pandatiala application form.
First preference will be given to GATE-qualified candidates and who have obtained at least 60% (55% for SC/ST/Industry sponsored) marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination from a recognised university
After offering seats to the GATE qualified candidates, the admission to remaining vacant seats (if any) shall be filled on the basis of merit prepared by giving 30% weightage to 12th marks and 70% weightage to B.E./B.Tech. marks.
Final selection is done on the basis of the marks secured by candidates in entrance examination, past academic performance along with several other parameters.
Selected candidates are required to submit documents and pay course fees to secure admission.

Thapar University MBA Admission Process

Students must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria as per the choice of the specialisations

Appear in CAT/ NMAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ SNAP or TMAT (Thapar Management Aptitude Test)

Academics

The faculty is well-learned. The only thing I don't like is that teachers don't care much about whether the student is listening or not. There are 2 semesters in a year, and each semester has two exams. Exams are quite difficult, but you can easily pass by doing previous year papers.

placements are good. But teachers are not much responsive.

Academics

Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable but not much responsive. Quality of teaching is fairly good. Various semester projects are there in there for solving real life problems and assignments are provided for better learning. Semester exams are conducted as sessional followed with lab evaluation, then mid term exams and then again sessional, labs and end term exams. You have to achieve at least 33% marks for passing.

Hello Aspirant,

Thapar University is one of the most renowned Universities in India. In terms of quality of education, holistic development, healthy student culture, placement package, and even the fee. But as far as I know, it is mostly known for its B.Tech courses. I would suggest that if you have other options like DU, Christ University, or any other central university, maybe consider them before resorting to Thapar University.
