Course

Eligibility Criteria

B. Tech

• Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) exam with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

• Studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 12th standard level are eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree Programmes.

BBA

• 10+2 Arts/Commerce/Science (Minimum 50%) system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Exam (ISCE, New Delhi) or any other equivalent boards

BCA

Pass Higher Secondary Exam conducted by the State / Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with Mathematics as one of the subjects with a minimum of 50% overall aggregate.

B.Sc

Candidates appearing for the GIETEE should have either completed or shall be appearing , in any one of the following qualifying exams:

• The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).

• Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

• As per GIET UNIVERSITY norms, NIOS candidates are also eligible to apply. They should submit Migration-Cum-Transfer certificate at the time of admission.

MBA

• Passed Bachelor Degree of minimum 3 years duration.

• Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

M.Tech

Minimum of 55% marks / 5.5 (on a 10-point scale) in B.E. /B. Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent in appropriate branches, Candidates who have a valid GATE score, are eligible to apply for M. Tech.

M.Sc

All candidates need to possess a bachelor’s degree in Science from a recognised college/ university. Minimum marks that candidates need to secure in graduation in order to be eligible for an MSc course is usually 50 – 60%. However, the required percentage might change depending on the policy of a university or institute in which a candidate is applying.

MA

As a minimum criterion of eligibility, aspiring candidates are needed to have attained a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.

MCA

The eligibility criteria for MCA is a 50% aggregate & Above in Graduation (Sc/Arts/Commerce).The student needs a 50% aggregate In Maths / Statistics / Comp. Sc./ Comp.Prog./ Comp.Applic. / Business Maths / Business Stats.(Either At 10 + 2 or Degree Level)to be considered eligible for MCA.

Ph.D

• Master’s Degree holders satisfying the criteria stipulated under Clause 2 above.

• Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

• A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. program of the same Institution.

• Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a  Foreign  Educational  Institution accredited by an Assessment and  Accreditation  Agency which is approved, recognized, or authorised by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing,  accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions,  shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program..
