24 MonthsThe VLSI and Embedded Systems M.Tech program will cover the fundamentals and engineering aspect of designing and developing IC based systems. Traditionally VLSI technology has emerged out as a successful conglomeration of two streams: material science and electrical engineering. The state of the art VLSI technology requires research in physical devices as well as novel design and development of electrical circuit. The program will focus on developing hands-on skill of designing semiconductor devices and circuits, architecting systems using embedded components such as, CPU, memory and peripherals. Students will be trained in several topics that cut across different domain, starting from lowermost level of physical devices to the top level of application development.
As per M.Tech regulations, a student is required to complete 12 credits (all the courses) from core bucket and 8 credits to get specialization in VLSI and Embedded Systems. Overall 48 credits must be completed to get M.Tech degree with VLSI and Embedded Systems specialization.

Both GATE and Non GATE candidates are eligible to apply for admission with B.Tech/BE in ECE/EE (& its allied areas) or MSc in Electronics (for ECE) with a CGPA of at least 7.00 out of 10 or 65% marks.
IIIT-Delhi provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PwD and CW category candidates. Specifically, candidates under these categories must have a CGPA of at least 6.0 out of 10 or 60% in their qualifying degree. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be considered for admission.
Candidates with valid GATE score will only be eligible for M.Tech Assistantship. GATE score above the qualifying marks announced by GATE in the respective year will be considered valid. For CSE, “CS” GATE paper and for ECE, “EC/EE/IN” GATE paper will be considered.
