Delhi Technological University (DTU), one of India’s premier engineering institutions, is widely appreciated for its excellent infrastructure and vibrant campus environment. Spanning over 165 acres in Rohini, Delhi, the DTU campus offers a blend of modern architecture and natural greenery, providing an ideal atmosphere for academic and personal growth. The university’s infrastructure includes state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with smart boards, projectors, and air conditioning to ensure a comfortable learning environment. Each department has its own dedicated block with specialized labs that house advanced equipment and research tools, rivaling those found in top-tier institutions like IITs. Students often praise the hands-on exposure and practical learning experience made possible through these well-maintained facilities.
I am pursuing B.Tech in Biotechnology at Delhi Technological University (DTU) because of the program’s interdisciplinary focus and the growing demand for biotech professionals in healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sectors. The course integrates biology with engineering, making it both innovative and application-oriented. DTU offers strong academic support through its modern labs and research-driven environment, which is ideal for students interested in real-world problem solving through science and technology. The quality of teaching is generally commendable. Faculty members are well-qualified and many are involved in active research, often encouraging students to participate in projects and conferences. Professors focus on both theoretical understanding and practical application, using smart classrooms and well-equipped laboratories to deliver effective learning. While some students feel certain faculty members rely heavily on textbooks, others appreciate the mentoring and industry exposure provided, especially in final-year projects and internships.
The quality of placements for B.Tech in Biotechnology at Delhi Technological University (DTU) is decent but not as strong as core engineering branches like Computer Science or Electronics. On average, around 50% to 70% of students from the biotechnology branch get placed every year, though this percentage can vary depending on the batch and market conditions. Some years, the placement rate has been lower, with students relying more on off-campus opportunities or internships to secure jobs. The average package offered to biotechnology students typically ranges from ₹4 to ₹6 LPA, with a few exceptional cases reaching up to ₹14–20 LPA. Core recruiters in this field include renowned pharma and biotech companies like Mankind Pharma, Biocon, Cipla, Serum Institute, and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. While these companies offer valuable experience and a strong career foundation, they may not offer very high salary packages compared to IT or finance firms.
The B.Tech in Biotechnology course at Delhi Technological University (DTU) typically costs around ₹1.90 lakhs per year for general category students. This includes tuition fees, examination fees, and other academic charges, though hostel and mess fees are separate. Over the span of four years, the total academic cost is approximately ₹7.5–8 lakhs, excluding living expenses. As for whether students feel they are getting their money’s worth, opinions are mixed. From an academic perspective, DTU provides excellent infrastructure, experienced faculty, and good exposure to research and innovation. The biotechnology labs are well-equipped, and students have access to internships, minor projects, and occasional industrial visits, which adds value to the learning experience. However, when it comes to return on investment (ROI) through placements, many students feel that the biotech branch doesn't fully match expectations. Since the average package is relatively modest (around ₹4–6 LPA), and not all students get placed through campus recruitment, some question whether the fees justify the placement outcomes.
The Delhi Technological University (DTU) campus is widely admired for its spacious, green, and well-maintained environment. Spread across approximately 165 acres, the campus blends modern academic infrastructure with natural surroundings, offering a peaceful yet vibrant atmosphere for students.
Yes, one important aspect worth mentioning about Delhi Technological University (DTU) is its strong student community and networking opportunities. The college has a highly competitive environment where students are driven, ambitious, and often involved in multiple activities outside academics—like hackathons, research projects, startups, and national-level competitions. This vibrant peer group plays a big role in shaping students’ personal and professional growth.
College is also very good well transport connectivity with bus and metro. College faculty help a lot in all types of projects and give well carrer guidance. Most faculty show keen interest in the overall development of the students.

The course curriculum is relevant to which we need for examination and it makes students ready for industries and many more. The teachers in our institution are very helpful well qualified and have good knowledge
The placement option for mechanical engineering branches are good. While the campus environment is decent. However very few students secure on campus internships in btech those in technical branches have better chances of landing roles.
DTU has a very large campus comparable to IITs with proper hygiene and maintenance. It includes various small parks and gardens and also a large sports complex which includes cricket ground football ground and indoor badminton also and many more. The library is quite big but sometimes lacks the semester resources. Wifi is available all over tha campus but it doesn't always work well everywhere so you need to use hotspot. AC is available in every classroom and building also in new canteen (Raj soin). Also there are multiple food spots across the campus so u don't need to travel for lunch. Overall the infrastructure is good and improving every year.
In DTU most professors are knowledgeable and experienced especially in core subjects. There is lack of practical coding but if you are looking for core subjects DTU is the best choice. There are various Value addition courses (VAC) available which u can opt in each semester as per your choice and seats available. Attendance is not mandatory usually but some professors are strict over attendance. There are regular assignments but not necessarily to submit on time.
Placement in DTU are one of the best among engineering colleges in India. Most students from CSE,IT,SE branch are placed in top MNCs like microsoft google every year with a very good package. Tge average package is around 15-18 LPA. There are many internship opportunities available both in startups and big companies.
The annual fee of DTU is around 2.5L which is quite high being a government college but you receive quality education good infrastructure and campus facilities. The return on investment is high especially for CSE and IT students. Fir other branches campus life, network, exposure make it worth the cost. Scholarship and financial aid are also available for students with economically weaker section.
Campus life at DTU is vibrant and full of energy. There are many student clubs for everything - technical, cultural, spots, music, dance, photography etc. The college host North India's largest cultural fest - Engifest and various other fests like Invictus (Technical fest) , E-summit(entrepreneurship fest) which brings a lot of fun. Students get many opportunities to explore their interest and participate in various contests across the fest. Hostel life is also fun and many students form long life friendship here. DTU is a great mix of learning, fun , freedom and memories.
The college offers decent infrastructure with essential facilities such as well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, a library, and computer centers. The campus is generally clean and maintained, with Wi-Fi access available in most academic areas. Hostel and sports facilities are also provided, contributing to both academic and extracurricular development. However, the quality and availability of resources may vary slightly depending on the department and course.
The academic environment at the college is structured to promote both theoretical understanding and practical application. The faculty is generally knowledgeable and supportive, and the curriculum is designed to meet current industry standards. However, like any institution, the quality of academic experience can vary between departments. Students who are proactive and take initiative tend to benefit the most from the academic resources available
The college has a growing placement cell that actively works to connect students with potential employers. Many reputed companies visit the campus during placement drives, offering opportunities in various sectors such as IT, finance, consulting, and core engineering. While top performers often secure good packages, placement outcomes can vary based on the student's academic performance, communication skills, and the demand in their field. The college also provides training sessions to improve resume building, interview skills, and aptitude performance.
The college offers a reasonable return on investment, especially considering the quality of education, available facilities, and placement support. For students who make the most of the academic and extracurricular opportunities, the overall experience can be quite rewarding. The fee structure is generally affordable compared to other institutions offering similar programs, making it a good option for students seeking quality education within a budget
Campus life at the college is vibrant and engaging, offering a balanced mix of academics, extracurricular activities, and social events. Students can participate in various clubs, cultural fests, technical competitions, and sports events throughout the year. The environment encourages interaction and collaboration, helping students build friendships and soft skills. Hostel life and campus surroundings also contribute to a lively and supportive student community.

I am studying Btech in civil Engineering and I am in second year of the college . The quality of teaching is nice and the professors are very corporative and helpful. Apart from this also the curriculum is based on recent developments and is up to date . Also college provide us with not just bookish and theoretical knowledge but also practical which is necessary while doing job so it makes us job ready also.
The placements are nice all the top companies comes to the campus for recruitment . The placement is 95% for a batch and the average ctc is 13 lpa for my coarse and the highest is 1.5cr which gies for cse or it batch . Ya college is supportive in nature . It help us during our placements.
Ya I do say that it is value for money as the coarse fees is about 12 lakh in total and it offers an average package of 13 lakh per annum which gives us nice rate of interest so according to me it is value for money.
The campus life is best . There is many fest which are organised by the college engifest is India’s biggest cultural fest which is organised by the campus . Not only this it also has inactus which is a fest in which every society organises a competition for students and also it gives us a huge exposure to the students in every field also help them to find their interest.

This college is very good for the students who has the not afford expensive college
The college infrastructure is best one among all the colleges I think in Delhi. The colleg itself is so big and covered I think around 160 acres with so many department and building. The Raj soin Hall and others buildings are amazing with the best infrastructure.
The Academics of the each department is very good examined by the HODs of each department. The classrooms with modern tech education increases the connectivity between the students and professors. The professors make us understand the topics and gives us the notes which helps us a lot. Overall the academics is best here.
The Placement cell which is organised by the volunteer and professors is well managed by them. The placement of our college is best like with the average packages lies around 8-10 lakh per annum. Like i am in Biotech department, mostly I heard there are less placement here in this department but i have seen many past data of the placement in my department and there i can see mostly the packages is around 10 lakh and with highest of 46 lakh .
The college provides us many opportunity in mostly every field, like in Sports events in conducted between department and inter - college too . Where you can represent yourselves and like also many well known companies and internship program are available in the college throughout the year.
The Campus is really so good with so many activities like while in the breaks time , at OAT many students perform mostly singing , we can play tennis , basketball and other games in the Sport complex which is within the college . Other activities and fest which is popular in Delhi is organised by CC society.
Dtu college has a huge campus and it has a mandir too at the entrance. Classrooms have A.C and projectors from which teacher can explain stuff easily . There is a canteen near the pragya bhavan which serves good food especially south indian.
Teachers use technology and many innovative way to teach us but i believe that they can guide us more regarding how to study the subject. Although Lab are so far so good, lab have all the required equipments but again you need to have prerequisite knowledge about the experiments
Placement of the electrical engineering was good last year . I saw the official brochure which stated that the ee had highest 51 lpa which was offered by microsoft and average was around 11.5-12 lpa.
BEST COLLEGE FOR BEST CAMPUS LIFE . Multiple fests whcuh u can attend.
Hello student,
No, DTU (Delhi Technological University) does not use CUET for its B.Tech admissions. CUET is used for other undergraduate programs at DTU, like BBA, BA (Hons.) Economics, and B.Des.
DTU primarily uses JEE Main scores for B.Tech admissions.
You can check the courses and eligibility here:

Thank you!!
85% Seat Allocation for Delhi Candidates : DTU reserves 85% of its seats across programs, including B.Tech, BBA, and MBA, for candidates who have completed their qualifying education—such as Class 12 for undergraduate courses or a Bachelor’s degree for MBA—from a recognized institution located in Delhi. Given that your schooling is from Delhi, you fulfill this criterion and are eligible for the Delhi quota. This reservation policy prioritizes you over out-of-state candidates, who compete for the remaining 15% of seats, thereby enhancing your chances of securing admission.
Validity of Caste Certificate from Haryana : Your caste certificate from Haryana is valid for claiming reservation benefits at DTU, provided it is issued by a competent authority and adheres to the Government of India’s guidelines for categories such as OBC-NCL, SC, or ST. DTU, as a state university, accepts caste certificates from other states for reservation purposes, so your certificate should not pose any issue, assuming it aligns with the category you’ve applied under. For instance, if applying under OBC-NCL, the certificate must be recent (typically issued within the last year) and reflect your status on the Central OBC list. The 85% Delhi quota is determined solely by your schooling location, not the state of issuance of your caste certificate, so this aspect does not impact your eligibility for the quota.
MBA-Specific Eligibility at DTU : If you are applying for DTU’s MBA program, the eligibility criteria include a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates). Admission typically requires a valid CAT score, followed by a counseling process or an interview. As a Delhi candidate, you fall under the 85% quota, and your caste certificate can be utilized to avail reservation benefits, potentially easing cutoff requirements or prioritizing your seat allocation.
Hello Aspirant,
If you are okay with any BTech branch and are open to a lot of other areas, then any branch at DTU is generally better than CSE at JSS. DTU (Delhi Technological University) has a good reputation, better campus, alumni network, and placement packages across branches, as well as internships and projects. Even if you don't get CSE at DTU, ECE, IT at DTU, or even mechanical can be good, and you would learn coding for example, or otherwise ease into this area through self-study coding platforms and internships.
If you are fully aware that you only want to do Computer Science and have a deep passion for programming from the start, then CSE at JSS can also be a decent option. However, overall DTU offers a better platform for your long-term career development and flexibility.
