In the year 2019, about 80% of the students from the course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 10.5 LPA, and the lowest package salary package offered is 3.6 LPA. In the year 2018, almost 90% of the students got placed with the highest salary package of 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Samsung, Amazon, HSBC, etc., visit the campus for placements.

All the institutions that you have mentioned were counted as premier institutions of India. You will get knowledge and exposure to industries in all of the colleges.

But first you need to choose your interest whether it is CSE or it is ECE.

By the way I'm adding information regarding placements of that branch of the institutions hope it helps you;

CSE

IITM GWALIOR - Almost 80% of students get placements from CSE branch. You can expect a average salary package of 9-11 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Google, Gojek, Lenovo, Myntra and others.

NIT HAMIRPUR - More than 90% of CSE students were placed every year. The average salary package offered is 9-10 LPA. Big companies like Amazon, HCL, Flipcart, Paytm, Samsung, Oracle, Infosys, and many others visit the campus to hire students for placements.

NIT SILCHAR - About 80% of the students get placements each year in top companies. You can expect a average salary package of 7-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Samsung, HP, Godrej, Nokia, etc., visit the campus for placements.

ECE

IIIT ALLAHABAD - More than 90% of ECE students were placed every year. The average salary package offered is 10-14 LPA. Big companies like Google, Sprinklr, etc. visit the campus for placements.

MANIT BHOPAL - Almost 70% of the students get placements from the college. The average salary package of 7-8 LPA is offered here. Bajaj, Hero, Mahindra and Havells are among the top companies which visit the college for placements.

SVNIT SURAT - Almost 80% of the students get placements every year. You can expect a average salary package of 7-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Intel, HP, Tata and many other startups and core companies.

MTech is all about research and being in Nit Hamirpur is a great experience.

You have good options for PHD in reputed colleges like IIT, IISC etc. You will get preference being an student of NIT. if you have good relation with your guide then you will get More chances of admission in NIT Hamirpur Itself.

You will easily get teaching job(campus placement) in colleges like TMU,LPU,CU etc With average package of 30k to 45k per month.


There is no problem with doing your masters at the age of 27 and that too in a NIT. This will definitely give your career a jump and you will get better opportunities ahead.

As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing CRL rank was 20494 for CSE branch in NIT Hamirpur under Home state quota for General category.

Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:

  • Overall ranking
  • Infrastructure
  • Location/accessibility
  • Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
  • Placement opportunities

The preference order you should consider is:

  1. ECE at NIT Hamirpur
  2. EE at NIT Hamirpur
  3. Production Engg at DTU
  4. Manufacturing and Automation engineering at NSIT
  5. IT at UIET Chandigarh
  6. IIIT's

I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website.

Hope you are doing great there . According to the percentile score mentioned by you above your predicted CRL rank lies somewhere around 51150 - 57500 . I regret to say this but with this rank you might not be able to get a seat in NIT Hamirpur ,  and that too when you neither have access you benefits of any any special category nor the benefits of home state quota  . The closing rank in NIT hamirpur for open category is 49413 for Materials Science and Engineering during the physical round of counselling .

NIT Durgapur has seen better brand recognition and ranks higher to NIT Hamirpur.



NIT durgapur has an average package of 6lpa for Chemical engineering while NIT Hamirpur Has 5.5lpa for Mechanical engineering, overall both have baove 85% placements.





All in all its equivalent to consider both of them.

No, with a Percentile of 76.5 in JEE Main, in spite of being from OBC Category, you wont be able to secure a seat in NIT Hamirpur, irrespective of whether youre a Home State or Other State Student.

The hostels are spacious and comfortable, and getting a single room in the final year feels like a reward. The WiFi is super fast, and the computer labs are well-equipped, making it easy to stay on top of assignments. Each department has its own dedicated lab, and the campus also has two peaceful temples, a well-maintained sports complex, a gym, and even a music room where we could unwind after a long day.
