Hello Manoj. You mentioned you have secured AIR 171987 in JEE Main 2021 but you didn't mention your caste. So, I assume you belong to General category. Your profile says you come from Odisha, hence you will be categorized under Home State quota.
Based on this rank and as per previous years' cutoff trend, it is less likely for you to get admission to core streams at NIT, Rourkela.
In the list given below, I have mentioned JEE Main 2020 Cutoff AIR prescribed for various core streams for Home State, General candidates at NIT Rourkela.
If you want to get a detailed picture of the cutoff trends in NIT Rourkela, then check out this page:

Hi Neha,
As per previous years cutoffs the closing rank in General Category was 58594 which is for Food Process engineering 56377 for biomedical engineering in Home State.
This years cutoff will be near around these numbers only. So you might get into NIT Rourkela but you won't have many branches to choose from.
You can get more information about the cutoffs from the link below:-

Hopefully this helps and All the Best.
Hey there
NIT Rourkela:
IIIT Dharwad
By above points it can be said that both are good but the former one has an edge in placements
I would you to pursue Civil Engineering from NIT Rourkela. You have lots of PSU Vacancies through GATE each year for Civil Engineering, across Industry and Public Research Sectors. Some of the Opportunities include
1. UPSC ESE Engineering Services
2. GATE/PSU Jobs
3. ISRO/DRDO/BARC (Respective Entrance Procedure mentioned alongwith vacancies annually)
4. Other Government Service Options (General) include, UPSC CSE Preparation, State PCS, SSC CGL, RBI Grade B, RRB Railways, SBI PO and many Others).
Hi,
In my opinion you should go for NIT Andhra ECE in compare to NIT Rourkela Civil/Chemical.
Give priority to core branches then decide college. Decide your interest. Here first two choices you can think if you get NIT. As per scope and diversities of jobs, you can order as follows :
Now final call is yours. Choose according to your interest.
Hope this helps.
All the Best.
Dear aspirant,
With a percentile of 96 it's very difficult to get electrical branch or any branch at nit Rourkela being from other state.
A minimum of 97+ percentile is required to grab a seat in nit Rourkela from other state. Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

Hi,
IIEST is a reputed institute so do NIT Rourkela is. According to Data available , Nearly 80-90% students gets placed during placement times with average placement Ranging around 5-6 Lakhs. NIT Rourkela do have similar Placement record. But if you look Career Oppurtunities in India, ECT has better placements Oppurtunities than Chemical Engineering. The Average package of ECT is more than Chemical generally.
So, according to me IIEST shibpur would be good choice .
Thanks!!!!
Hi,
If you are getting in EE in DTU then you should go for it. DTU is better Institute than Newly established NITs. Also EE has better career opportunities than Chemical. DTU has good reputation and it will surely help you in placement times. You can also do research work there if you like. Even if you opt for higher studies, being from DTU would certainly help you .
I hope this will answer your query.
Thanks!!!!
The laboratories were equipped with all necessary equipment. Each department and the library have open Wi-Fi access. The hostel provides spacious rooms that can accommodate two students. The mess facilities were somewhat manageable for students from other states. Additionally, we have access to free medical services here.
The infrastructure is very good. We have an indoor stadium, a football field, and a cricket field. Campus has Wi-Fi everywhere, classrooms have ACs and labs are also good and equipped with all instruments and machines. In hostels, the quality of food is good. Different types of food options are available for North Indians and South Indians. The college has a medical center with a doctor available 24 hours a day. Sports facilities are also available at college.
The infrastructure is one thing to be considered in this college. It has a Student Activity Center (SAC) where many clubs are present, and where you can join by your choice and improve your personality and knowledge. The college is also providing the facility of gym, swimming pool, Wi-Fi, and LAN.
