The  IIEST Shibpur institute is under the NIT council and it admits students based on JEE Main rankings. So, the exam needed to take admission in IIEST Shibpur is JEE Mains.

IIEST Shibpur intake students will be done based on JEE Main exam and also on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. To get admission, candidates have to qualify higher secondary Examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.

No, not 75 percent but Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST ) reserves 50% seats fordomicile candidates from Bengal.
Admission is offered through JEE mains.

no it is not mandatory for any of the students for any of the courses, let it be bachelors or masters degree in  iiest shivpur to enroll for hostel. if your house is near the college or you want to stay outside the campus you may definitely choose to take separate residence.
