IIEST Shibpur is a much better institute than NIT DGP as far as Circuital Branches CSE, IT and Electrical are concerned. The institute has great infrastructure, faculty as well as a strong employer outlook being located near Software, IT, Corporate and Technology hubs of Kolkata.

Considering you are from West Bengal State and have the Home State Domicile Quota, and from General Category the last cutoff at Electrical Engineering IIEST Shibpur this year was 23.4k, while that at NIT Durgapur EE was 29k. So you see you need a minimum target of 20k in JEE Mains for securing a seat in either of NIT Durgapur or IIEST Shibpur, further depending on your choice.
For a Rank of 20k-25k in JEE Mains, considering the increasing competition as well as the liberalisation with more number of students attempting as well as getting a chances to improve their scores in between JEE Mains with 4 Phases of the Examination, you should Target a minimum of 98 percentile for achieving this feat, for which you would nearly need 50% of the Total Score, i.e 150/300. You need both a proper strategy and regular hardwork to achieve this feat. Hope that helps.

I think IIEST CSE would be better than BITS Goa campus EnI , but the only factors to consider are that the placement percentage for CST at IIEST is decreasing every year and stood at a low 72% in 2019 , so you have to perform well even in IIEST to be eligible for their placments. Also , you will miss out on the vibrant campus and various co-curricular activities and nice , conducive coding culture at BITS Goa .
So , if you’re ready to work hard for the 4 years of your BE degree , then you can definitely choose IIEST CST ( it’s not CSE there ) , or else BITS Goa campus EnI is also a good option to consider.
Hey!
personally ill suggest you sastra. cse in saastra in tough to get. but if you had managed to get it, then stay there. anyway you will be in hostel i guess. so they have various things like good food. good stay rooms, a gym, and clubs. it is more linient college. so you can surely join there

Dear Student,
IIEST ( Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology ), Shibpur has a total of 9 multi-seated and 5 single-seated boys hostels.
D. Banerjee Hall (Hostel 8) and IIEST Shibpur (Hostel 10) are the two hostels for 1st year UG students . Here you will not get single room .The rooms are big enough to have 4 students.
Food is very good in these hostels. And also the facilities like parks , common room and dining room in these hostels are very nice. Electricity management is good. Fr om 3rd year onwards students have choice to take single rooms.
Hope this helps.
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology situated in Shibpur Having good infrastructure.Certainly lacks the facility & infrastructure of a top notch institute (refers to my dept.-archi), and heard a lot of complaints from my B.Tech friends about the placement department, which I presume is true to a large extent, although the new INI tag will be able to solve the problem, hopefully. But, students here get one hell of an experience of the hostel life, senior-junior relationship is something we learn to treasure and cherish.
Our college having great infrastructure with all the facilities are available. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. The food quality is very bad to average. Drinking water is not very good as well. There are no well made tables or chairs in hostels, you have to buy them on your own. For sports there are 2 big grounds where you can play cricket and football. There is separate court for basketball and one for badminton. Except these there isn't anything else in sports department.
Great Infrastructure but placements should be improved as there was no placement in 2020 for Applied Geology. I am pretty sure the engineering departments are very much good at infrastructure but the university authorities must pay attention t the science departments as well.
