Hi
It's quite difficult to predict because cutoff keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-
******number of students that appeared in the jee main exam,
****** number of available seats,
****** performance of different students in the examination,
****** the category you belong etc.
But yes,
When we go through previous year trend then
>>>>>> With your mentioned rank,
You have low chances in NITs / IIITs
For mechanical engineering
You have chances in some of the government engineering colleges which are listed below along with the link for their previous year cut off :-
------) Dr APJ Abdul Kalam UIT Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Jhabua :- https://www.careers360.com/colleges/dr-apj-abdul-kalam-uit-rajiv-gandhi-proudyogiki-vishwavidyalaya-jhabua/cut-off

----) Vikram University, Ujjain :- https://www.careers360.com/university/vikram-university-ujjain/cut-off
This prediction of colleges is based of past year data but cut off or closing rank changes every year depending upon many factors like the number of students that give the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main for different shifts etc so

Hi Sagnik,
Congratulations on your score. Well, judging from your percentile, your rank tends to be somewhere between 85657-115045. Hence, analyzing from previous years' cutoffs as well as keeping your rank in mind, it will be somewhat tough for you to get a seat in Metallurgical or Aerospace Engineering discipline at IIEST (IIEST, Shibpur does not have Chemical Engineering). However, do not be discouraged in the first-go and do appear for the counselling, nobody knows what miracle awaits you. Please find attached the previous years' cutoffs for all disciplines in IIEST here:
Also, coming to the scores of your boards- you do meet all criteria for eligibility. To get into IIEST, an aggregate of 80% in PCM and overall aggregate of 75% in 12th is required, both of which you satisfy. Hope that helped you. Best of luck :)
Dear aspirant,
Hope you secured a good rank in JEE mains. The institutions you have mentioned were counted as one of the good institutions for engineering courses.
Talking about the placements in the following colleges,
IIEST SHIBPUR
Electronic & Telecommunication Branch The placements are good enough. Almost 65-70% of students get placed every year. The highest package was offered by Microsoft (39 LPA) for 6 students, and the lowest package was offered by some of the mass recruiters like Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, etc., of 3.6 LPA. The average package was somewhere around 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Microsoft, Texas Instruments, PWC, ZS Associates etc. More than 50% of students grab internships in good companies like PWC, Microsoft, Texas etc. Some of the major roles offered are system engineer, VLSI design engineer, data scientist etc.
For more information about this institution you can visit the given link,
NIT DURGAPUR
Electrical Branch The overall placement rate was 71.92% here, with the highest salary package of 33 LPA and the average salary package of 9.09 LPA. Renowned companies like Qualcomm, PwC, Cognizant, Capgemini, JCB, Infosys, ZS Associates, Samsung and Alstom recruited students from here. Most of the students bagged good internships. Some selected students are sent to CERN, Switzerland and DAAD, Germany. Otherwise, the students can do internships in foreign institutions or in IITs, IISc, IISERs, IAS JNCASR, etc.

Hope it helps you..
Best of luck..
See as you are an EWS student then the income aspects of your family is already satisfied. Now if we consider the salary range then also you are not eligible for any scholarship or economical weak student schemes. So essentially you may not need the certificate. But I would advise you to keep the certificate ready because there are always changes in regulations among the colleges. So if there are any issues then you will have to face the problems. So it would be better to keep it ready if required show it or else don't show. But if required and you didn't have the certificate then you may have to face problems.

Hi,
Last year the closing rank for Aerospace Engineering in IIEST -Shibpur was around 4000 SC Rank for other state students. Taking this cutoff in consideration, it is Difficult to get Aerospace Engineering in IIEST. However you could get this branh if there were seats left for Special round councelling because usually special round has very less closing rank.
In order to predict what other colleges you could get , you should use this tool :

Thanks!!!!!
Hello aspirant ,
If you are interested in electronics then my opinion is that you should choose ece branch (ece nit Srinagar) Because nowadays the scope in ece is increasing.
Also Civil branch is a good one (civil nit Agartala) If you don't mind for living other city for 4 years.
These are just suggestions, if you are interested in the rest of your preferences, you can also consider it.
All the best for your Future !
Hi
This is difficult to make prediction as cutoff depends upon various factors like :-
-----------) number of students/ candidates that appeared in the jee main exam,
-----------) number of available seats,
-----------) performance of different students in the examination,
-----------) the branch you want,
-----------) the category you belong etc.
Anyway,
When we go through previous year trend then
With 54650 rank,
In josaa counselling, your chances in NITs, IIITs, or even IIEST is a bit low. When we go through past year trend then even for lower nits your rank should have been around 50k. IITs provide admission through jee advanced.
But yes,
You have chances in GFTIs, as per round 6th , 2020 in josaa counselling , some if which are listed below:-
School of Engineering, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur:- ECE :-58671
Mizoram University, Aizawl:- electrical engineering:-62907
National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology, Hatia, Ranchi:- Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):- 62323
And more
You can check the closing ranks at official website of josaa by going through the link given below

Hi,

Hope this helps.
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology situated in Shibpur Having good infrastructure.Certainly lacks the facility & infrastructure of a top notch institute (refers to my dept.-archi), and heard a lot of complaints from my B.Tech friends about the placement department, which I presume is true to a large extent, although the new INI tag will be able to solve the problem, hopefully. But, students here get one hell of an experience of the hostel life, senior-junior relationship is something we learn to treasure and cherish.
Our college having great infrastructure with all the facilities are available. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. The food quality is very bad to average. Drinking water is not very good as well. There are no well made tables or chairs in hostels, you have to buy them on your own. For sports there are 2 big grounds where you can play cricket and football. There is separate court for basketball and one for badminton. Except these there isn't anything else in sports department.
Great Infrastructure but placements should be improved as there was no placement in 2020 for Applied Geology. I am pretty sure the engineering departments are very much good at infrastructure but the university authorities must pay attention t the science departments as well.
