The college is sufficient enough with all the facilities. Students enjoy the green campus, and the serene beauty of the college provides a perfect 'Study Environment'. It has WiFi connectivity all over the campus. It has 2 separate hostels. The boys' hostel is situated within the campus. The girls' hostel is a few kilometers away from the college, but has a bus facility to travel to and fro. The hostelites have mess facilities, inside the hostel and also within the campus, serving clean food.
I am currently in 1st year Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. People usually get into the college, with an intention of getting into Computer Science and Engineering. CS&E is undoubtedly amazing, but the other circuit courses are also in high demand. The faculties are good enough to satisfy the course outcomes. But if you really want to stand out from the crowd, you will have to carry out studies on your own, which will help you excel in academics.
This college is best for it's placements. Since past few years, CS&E and ECE are recording the highest placements on campus. There are 300+ companies who visit the campus every year, like Infosys, Bosch, Wipro, Flipkart, etc... The highest package offered last year was 32LPA, average package was 5LPA and the lowest package was 3LPA. The CS&E and ECE witnessed highest placements last year.
The college I worth the fees we pay for it. If you get into the college through KCET, you don't have to pay much. But, if you are getting in through COMEDK or Management Quota, mat be that is going to hit hard on your pockets. The college provides all the sufficient things inside the campus itself, which is affordable too. The hostel fees per year includes food facility as well, which is helpful to the hostelites.
The Campus is huge, vast, full of greenery, giving a perfect atmosphere to the students. It is spread out to 102 acres. There are a lots of campus clubs available, including Sahas, IEEE-SJCE, LCC, Gravity, etc... You can get into any of the clubs you are interested in. The faculties and the seniors are very friendly. In short, you don't have to worry about anything, once you get into JSSSTU(SJCE).
There are 13 BE courses available, and even it has a couple of BSc courses.
The college is built on a sprawling green campus of 102 acres. It has good laboratories, one of the largest libraries in the city, a digital library with access to various journals, gymnasium, Wi-Fi access with speed of 1GB/sec, Sports facilities including Basketball, throwball, volleyball, Badminton, Indoor table tennis courts and also football and Hockey ground. Hostels, classrooms, seminar halls, offices and gardens are well maintained.
Environmental Engineering department needs an updated curriculum to make you industry ready. Depending solely on professors and the curriculum will not help you land a job. Professors encourage students to do innovative research and learn more about the subject. They do provide guidance and exposure with seminars by industry experts, workshops etc. Professors are student centric and motivational. Grabbing opportunities provided by the college is the responsibility of each student.
Environmental engineering department students mostly get placed in Service companies like Infosys, Accenture, DXC etc. Branch specific companies recruit only very few students from a batch. Companies like automotive axles, BOSCH, LM Wind power, Toyota Motors recruit for environmental engineering jobs. Each company selects only one candidate hence competition is high and thus percentage of students placed from the branch is less compared to circuital branches.
Government seat fee averages around 50000 per year excluding hostel. The college provides good exposure and opportunities hence it is definitely worth the money.
JSS STU has a very active campus life. There are various clubs and societies, both technical and non technical which you can join to improve your soft skills and showcase your talent. Some of the clubs include IEEE, CSI, Photon, SAHAS Adventure club, PRO, Gravity, Velocity, Aero JC, etc. The campus have a huge talent pool and the clubs have won accolades in international competitions. JAYCIANA, the annual fest is popular throughout Karnataka.
Sjce mysore huge and beautiful campus approx 120acres campus infrastructure is also really good . The college campus have all the things you will need like library ,gym ,big playground etc hostel have wifi connection . Food is okay not so good not so bad if you are from north side you're gonna have little issues with but its fine
I'm an ece dpt student its really depends on which branch you are in but according to me mu branch teachers are really good specially and helpful also you may find some teachers really strict but not all of them
Sjce have good placements records over past years for csbs ise and also for ece department . Apart from the location factor good companies do visit our campus. College is supportive in every respect . About 80% of students do get placed in our college with decent placements
I'm from ece and our tuition fee for this year is about 1.47 lakhs. Sjce is very good in terms of placements and and in terms of experience also you gonna get a lot of experience over here so getting admission here is totally worth it
Our college have plenty of clubs and societies for extra curricular activities like velocity and gravity for dance , lcc (linux) sahas(adventure) etc here . Sjce is also famous for fests they organise . They are lots of things to explore and enjoy but at the same time schedule is little hectic buts its manageable
The infrastructure of our college is a bit old but not very bad. Wi-Fi facility is available, and the library is awesome, especially the digital library. CSE building is maintained better, and the classrooms are equipped with smart boards. The hostel is situated inside the college arena, and the environment around the college is refreshing. The food served in the mess is not much good, and the hostel rooms are small in size. The medical facility isn't much good.
5 internal per semester bit hectic.SJCE is famous for 5 event scheme and if you are from circuit branches , you will be spending lot of energy in writing internals and events for first 3 years.Final year is the best part and you will have lot of free time as classes will not be conducted regularly compared to previous year(you can expect lot of mass bunk).
Our college surely provides 100% placements for students who attend placements, especially in CSE, ISE and ECE branches. The highest salary package offered is 33 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 4.5 LPA. The median salary package offered is 7 LPA. Around 30% of the students from technical branches get placed in dream companies with a salary package of more than 10 LPA. Top companies which visit here for placements are Cisco, Amazon, National Instruments, Red Bus.
It ensures value for money.
The best thing about CSBS is that it is future-oriented not like some classic course curriculums. Data science has a high scope along with AI, so this course is an edge over other courses. This course also has another advantage that it provides you with knowledge about the business side of the technical sector. I suggest our college to improve its infrastructure and tools. It should start giving importance to research and development as students here have maintained a good coding culture.
My overall experience is good
Hey there! I'm glad you reached out. I'd be happy to help clear up any confusion about these colleges:
JSS College of Engineering and SJCE (Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering) are actually two different institutions, even though their names sound pretty similar.
JSS College of Engineering is in Mysuru, Karnataka. It's run by the JSS Mahavidyapeetha.
SJCE, on the other hand, is also in Mysuru but it's part of the JSS Science and Technology University. It used to be affiliated with the University of Mysore, but now it's an autonomous institution.
So while both are engineering colleges in Mysuru with similar-sounding names, they're separate schools. Hope that clears things up! Let me know if you have any other questions about these colleges or anything else related to engineering education.
