Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology (GCELT) has everything basic infrastructure for the Information Technology and computer science students . But I think the computer labs need better upgrades to help students learn and practice more easily. But didn't have any smart boards, but I must say the library was really good, peaceful and well-maintained. I didn't live in hostel so I don't have any idea about that.
I studied Information Technology because it's one of the booming industries in India. The program has great teachers like Debayan Sir from the Computer Science Engineering & IT department, who's a hidden gem! The teaching is really good, and there are other excellent professors like Surja Sir. In our cool classrooms and labs, we get hands-on experience and learn things that will help us get good jobs in the future.GCELT follow a curriculum set by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). This curriculum is regularly updated to include the newest things happening in the field. It helps us learn all the important stuff we need to know for jobs in Information Technology. So when we finish studying, we're ready for jobs.
The placement scenario at GCELT is not good at all. In 2020 there was no placement opportunity from the college. And that year only 3-5 guys got a placement from college. The Average salary is around 20k, and the placement scenario was easy. And the teacher are really very supportive.
For B.Tech in IT department you need to pay 24k per year which is 12k per ssemester. Getting my is worth because at this fees getting a b.tech degree from a decent college every penny is worth.
The offer little bit green campus which is pretty good in place like Kolkata. You can play cricket and football match in the campus ground which is really good. Support is best from both of side. The college located in one of safest city of India any kind of emergency can be handled here because every was connected

Our college have poor infrastructure and with good facilities. Whole campus has CCTV but does not works. Classrooms are not well maintained. Ragging also happens here. Living spaces are not so clean and hygenic.
Currently, I am in 2nd year pursuing b.tech in CSE. Faculties are worst leaving some of them. Curriculum is strictly followed and updated according to MAKAUT and includes all the recent developments in the field of education.
Very poor placement as it's a government college. Nearly 50%-60% gets placed in a year. Highest package offered was 28 lpa and average salary is nearly 8 lpa. To be honest, college is very supportive towards their students.
No our college does not have all the necessary facilities and equipments. Infrastructure is poor. Full campus has CCTV but does not works. Classrooms have smart boards but except this nothing is well maintained, if anything is broken it will remain broken. No canteen and environment is not so clean.
I am in 2nd year studying B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The quality of teaching is worst. Faculties are also not so good leaving some of them. Curriculum remains updated and gets completed in time according to MAKAUT.
Let's don't talk about placements here. Previous year 30% of the students were placed. Highest salary offered was 24 lpa and average salary is 8 lpa. The placement process is easy and pleasant. Yes, to be very honest college is very supportive.
All the needy infrastructure are there for digital and computer based works all you can get in the college in very well condition as they are under complete maintainance of teachers. There is no canteen in the college premises..
I am currently pursuing B. Tech in computer science and I am having a great academic life. All the teachers are very helpful and they play a quite well supportive role in your academic purpose. They will show you the correct way to approach your goal.
Quite good placement record. Till now many of the students are placed in quite good it markets and get a well amount of package as well but as my point of view don't take jobs in campus placement. Do higher studies and get a good job in product based companies.
As it is government college a small amount of money is needed to complete your entire course. On that point of view it is absolutely value for money and you will get good academic life throughout your entire course.
Campus life is quite good. Ragging free campus entirely and you will get a good natural surroundings that would feel you more comfortable and all the seniors are quite good and helpful also. And there is also a playground for everyone.
Hi,
I hope you are doing well.
Among the 3 mentioned universities GCETTS do not have that good placement opportunities in comparing to the other two.
GCELT gets good placement opportunities as 80% students get the placement opportunities with highest salary of 7 lakhs PA and also 90% of students get placed with internship opportunities as well.
GCECT is definitely the best with placement opportunities as it gets students placed with top Multi National companies such as Accenture, Wipro, TCS, IBM, etc with highest salary packages of 7-8 lakhs PA
I hope this helps.
All the very best.
hi,
see government college of engineering and leather technology situated in at beleghata kolkata comes under one of the renowned government institute. the placement statistics, college infrastructure, location, facilities for students is excellent. the major recruiter for CSE/ IT is tcs, byjus, wipro,, cts. average salary offered is 3.5 lpa. see college provide the quality education and every year many of the candidates qualified for gate exam, wich is the gate way exam for m.tech and job in public sector undertakings.
so if you want to complete b.tech from government institute, this college is best as per students review.
hope it would help.
