Yes you can take drop and can get yourself into Delhi technical University. It completely depends upon you whether you wished to study in right after your class 12 th or want to take a drop for a better college.

Male sure to make your drop year the most productive since if you donot take your drop year seriously then you will not be able to get good colleges.

Also taking a two year drop is not good because soke big companeis donot allow candidates to have more than one year drop after class 12th.

As per your query, you are applying for jee mains phase 1 and belongs to SC category. Before 2021 taking admission in DTU was quite easier than other top colleges but in 2021 these was a high increase in cutoffs of this university. In DTU you have to get admission through JAC councelling. For the candidates who passed their class 12 from any of the schools of Delhi then 85% of the reservation has been allotted to them.

If we see the round 7 (last round) cutoffs for SC category in CSE then their all India rank was 100824. This ranking may increase for the year 2022 because of getting much time for preparation. Now if we talk about your target in 2022:

For CSE- Rank 98k with 88.1 percentile.

For ECE- Rank 1.85k with 84 percentile.

But for this you have to wait till the last round of councelling.

Yes, there's no 75% eligibility criteria for admission in DTU. You'll get admission through jee mains. For admission into DTU, in 12th you need to have a minimum of 60% for general category, 50% for SC/ST/PD and 55% for OBC/CW in PCM and English with jee main score.

If you qualify in JEE Main you need to apply for JAC counselling as it will conduct the counselling for admission in to NSUT, DTU, IGDTUW and IIIT, Delhi. The eligibility criteria to get admission to DTU is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. You must score minimum 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Taken together.  You do not have to score 60% marks individually in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. First of all there is no minimum percentage requirement to appear for JEE Main. To appear for JEE Main a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board. This is applicable to all the students. But the students who want to get admission to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs need to score minimum 75% in 10+2 if they belong to general category or 65% if the candidate belong to SC/ST category. This is not applicable for admission in 2022 due to corona pandemic.

Admission to B.Tech in DTU is based on JEE Main Paper 1 score so you have to appear for JEE Main and the criteria to appear for JEE Main as mentioned above is that you must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. JAC will conduct counselling for admission in to DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW and IIIT, Delhi. To get admission to B.Tech in DTU you must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. You must score minimum 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Taken together. If you fulfill the criteria to appear for JEE Main and the criteria to get admission to DTU you will be eligible get admission.

It is to be noted that you can appear for JEE Main for three consecutive years from the year of passing. As you have passed 10+2 in 2022 you will be eligible to appear for JEE Main 2022, JEE Main 2023 and JEE Main 2024.

There's no  75 % criteria in 12th to be eligible for jee main, so even if your% is less than 75 % you will be eligible for jee main 2023.

IMPORTANT NOTE :-  This minimum percentage barrier of 75 % - 65% for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs  has been lifted off for jee main 2022 . It means to be eligible all you need to be eligible is to have at least passed 12th .

To be eligible for NITs etc in 2023 what you can do is give 12th improvement examination in order to get 75 % or more so that even if 75 % criteria returns in 2023 you will be eligible for NITs etc .

But as you are interested in DTU, nothing to worry because for DTU required% is only 60 % in pcm aggregate.

The eligibility criteria for admission in DTU says that candidates need to have 60% in Physics, chemistry and mathematics. This is the aggregate percentage that you have to score in these 3 subjects, pcm, alone and not in class 12.

Further the 75% criteria is only removed for this year 2022 in jee mains and it is not sure that it will further be removed from jee mains 2023 or not.
