IIM Kozhikode Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The Institute has 19 well-designed hostels accommodating about 1375 students some of which are especially for the boys students. While some of these hostels have air conditioners, all of them are equipped with washing machines. All the hostel rooms have been provided with a LAN connection to provide seamless internet collection to the students.

IIM Kozhikode hostel facilities include separate hostels for girl students. The hostel rooms are well furnished. The hostels have spacious rooms with comfortable beds. There are various recreational facilities also available like a music room, indoor games like a snooker table, dart game, and carrom board for the students.

IIMK classrooms are built in a way to provide a suitable atmosphere for sufficient learning. The classrooms are adequately spaced and well-maintained.

Participants of the IIMK Management Development Programmes benefit from a positive academic and learning atmosphere offered by the Management Development Centre. There are 116 standard and premium air-conditioned rooms with connected bathrooms, TV with cable service, mini-refrigerator, and internet access.

The institute has a spacious and well-stocked library with thousands of books, magazines, journals and other things. IIM Kozhikode library facility has a wide collection of print books, e-books, print journals, electronic journals, among other things. In addition to print materials, the library offers thousands of electronic books, journals, magazines, videos, cases, newspapers and many more. 

The institute focuses on the overall development of the students, for which a number of indoor and outdoor game facilities are available in the campus of IIM, Kozhikode.IIM Kozhikode sports facilities include ample space for outdoor sports like badminton, basketball, football and cricket. Properly maintained grounds ensure that students have enough space and opportunity to play the sport of their choice. All the hostels have facilities for various indoor games such as table tennis, carrom, chess, among others.

The IT setup at IIMK comprises a multi-layered architecture, the lowest layer of which is made up of personal computers and workstations. The next layer of IIM Kozhikode infrastructure facilities consists of File servers and Database servers. The third layer consists of Web server, FTP server, Email server and other high-end servers/computers requiring high resources demanding tasks. All the buildings including hostels in the campus are part of the campus LAN and all the services available on the LAN can be accessed from any node.

Students of IIMK have mess facilities exclusively for them. Apart from the three regular meals, tea and snacks are also provided to the students through the mess. The campus also has a restaurant that caters to the alternative eating habits of the students.

There are 2 auditoriums in IIM, Kozhikode with seating capacity of about 250 and 400. They are used for conducting seminars, conferences, culture programmes, students' events and other important events of the institute.

IIMK has made considerable progress in internetworking its campus and linking it to the outside world through the Internet and other high-bandwidth research networks like ERNET and RENNIC.

IIM Kozhikode medical facilities also include a first aid box that is equipped with all items of basic requirements. The medical room also has an expert that helps students in cases of medical emergency.

The institute also has a gym in its campus that is equipped with all the basic equipment. The availability of a gym helps the students to keep their health and fitness in check.
