Appreciating Hindustani Music Certification mainly explores Khayal of all the major vocal forms and this course is primarily concerned with contemporary practice to place the music in perspective.

Appreciating Hindustani Music Classes introduces the candidates to the raga system like the Raga melodic scale, composed of notes from the basic seven- Sa, Re, Ga, Ma Pa, Dha and Ni. On the basis of these notes included in it, each raga attains a different character and forms of the raga is also determined by the particular pattern of ascent and descent of the notes.

Students after carrying out the final exam (getting the required marks) get an Appreciating Hindustani Music Certificate from the IITM (Indian Institute of Technology Madras).
