Hello,

The closing rank of NIT and IIITs vary a lot and depend on a lot of various factors like demand, infrastructure, branch, location, etc. So, it would be better if you can also tell which particular institute you want to know about. There are 31 NITs and around a dozen of good IIITs, thus mentioning closing and opening ranks of every NIT/IIIT is not practical. I would still give you a rough idea that seats get filled in NIT for other states before closing rank reaches 50k for general, 20k for OBC, 10k for SC and ST. Same goes for the good IIITs also.

I am also attaching links for the cutoffs of NITs and IIITs for your convenience:

Hello,

With your rank of 28k in OBC, you have very less chance in any IIITs due to the sheer competition you will be facing for these seats. IIITs are one of the institutes of National Importance and thus are highly sought-after. These institutes offer courses like CSE and IT which are in high demand among students, thus your chances diminish further. I would suggest you avoid IIITs now and start looking of colleges which accept JEE Mains Marks for admission.

I hope it helps.

Thank You

Hello,
You have a very bright chance to get a seat in any NIT or IIIT. EWS quota has been started from this year and thus it's a little tough to predict it's trend but since the seats on offer under EWS quota is more than your rank secured, you have a very fair chance in Tier 2 NITs with decent branch (Mech, Civil, Electrical) Tier or Tier 3 NITs with best branhes (CSE, ECE, etc). You might even stand a chance in Tier 1  NIT with a lower branch. You can also get CS or IT or ECE in IIITs like Guwahati, or Gwalior though this can be in some later rounds. I would say you can definitely get any seat by 4th or 5th round of JoSAA and might even get upgraded till last round.

I would also suggest you to go for CSAB round as these rounds have closing ranks very high and you stand a chance to get even better option in it.

I hope I cleared your doubt. Thank You

Hello,
IIITs are given the status of Institutes of National Importance and thus are a brand which all the aspirants in engineering stream look up to. Thus the closing ranks of these Institutes are very tight and highly competitive. The branches of IIITs close even before the closing rank goes 10k. Good IIITs like Allahabad, Gwalior, and  Guwahati close even lower while newer IIITs like Manipur, Tripura, Surat, Nagpur, etc close a bit higher. The best IIIT is Hyderabad which conducts it's own counselling and rarely even crosses 900 rank in CRL.

Though it is very impractical to list out the closing ranks for SC of all IIITs. Here is a useful article which lists closing rank of major IIITs. closing ranks for IIITs

Hope it helps
Thank you

Hello,
First of all, I am considering that you mean CFTI and not CFRI. Your rank of 1.3L in CRL might not land you very good institutions in India but due to the OBC reservation you might score a seat in some of the newer IIITs and CFTIs. You can definitely get some decent branches in CFTIs as they have a comparatively lower demand than IIITs. Your best chance would be to take admission through some other state councelling and go for the CSAB Special Round which is the best chance for you to get a very good branch in some good NIT or IIIT.

greetings,

Hello Aspirant
Your rank is very high . There is very less chance of getting seat in any nit or nit in csab counseling also . Still that you should appear for counseling . You may get any seat .
Thanks

Hello Chandrashekhar.

With such a ranking it seems a little too difficult to get IIIT Sonipat. For furthur clarification you can check our jee main college predictor to see if you will get the desired college or not. The link for same is given below.

Hello,

OBC-NCL seats in institutions like NITs and IIITs are pretty much in a lot of demand and thus get filled very quickly. These institutes are prestigious and thus you can very much expect the closing ranks to be very low. You rank of 17k in OBC-NCL is pretty much in the borderline for the tier3 NITs or in your Home State NIT (albeit with lower branch). You can also go for some of the newer IIITs but these IIITs are mostly in temporary campuses and thus would be a huge compromise for the sake of just that "IIIT tag". You might even get some of the good GFTIs though the chances are less.

Hope it helps, and sorry for answering late. Thank You

Well I am not sure exactly what your query is but if it is regarding admission in International Institute of Information Technology in Bhubhaneshwar then I can help you with that.

It is a government funded technical institution GFTI which takes admission through the JOSAA counselling based on JEE MAIN score so you need to follow all the procedures of the JOSAA counseling and yes they require original Class 10 and 12 marksheet for verification at the time of counselling and admission.
