NYU Tandon School of Engineering is a part of New York University which was established in 1854. It was initially started as Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute along with the NYU School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. It was later renamed the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1889 and as Polytechnic University in 1985. It was renamed the NYU Tandon School of Engineering after Chandrika and Ranjan Tandon in 2015.
