What is Family Medicine

Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Family Medicine
The students who wish to pursue the Family medicine Course should have -
· A degree in MBBS or a Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery.
· One can also pursue the specialization course in Family Medicine with MD as a Post Graduation course.
For an MBBS –
· 10+2 Science Major with the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
· One will also have to attend the NEET exam. Only then can they qualify for an MBBS degree.
Entrance Exams for Family Medicine Course
For every course, there are certain entrance exams that one has to qualify. These are some of the exams for family medicine that one has to pass and only after doing that they are eligible for the next level. The entrance test for the course depends upon the university or college. In general, one will have to be attending an interview and an entrance exam for the same. And if one wishes to join for MD in Family medicines, then they will need to attend an entrance test and a personal interview.

I understand your situation.
No job can guarantee you quick money. The rate at which your income will increase depends on your skills and abilities .
Generally after finishing MBBS it is quite hard to get into a good college for MD and then to pursue independent practice. The path is challenging and there is a huge bias towards people who have medical background.
But, if you are willing to work hard and prove yourself you can ensure that you'll always have enough money with yourself for your survival. You will be able to increase your income once you gain the trust of people.

As per previous year trends (NEET PG 2020) the closing rank to get DNB (Diplomate of National Board) Family Medicine (for OBC - Non Creamy Layer Category) is around 33 to 34k. H ence , with 41k rank, it is difficult to get DNB Family Medicine in Karnataka, via OBC-NCL Category. However, with recent increase in Reservation for OBC Candidates , you do have some chances to get a seat.
