Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Haematology
1. For MBBS degree
A candidate must be a 10+2 passed student with a minimum of 50% marks overall in science subjects like PCB, i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
English, as the main subject, is highly recommended.
2. For MD in Haematology
A candidate must complete their MBBS studies and must have passed with a minimum of 45% marks overall in MBBS.
It is also recommended to do a year of internship before going for MD.
3. For DM in Haematology
Pursued after MD,
A candidate must complete their MBBS as well as MD with a minimum of 45% marks overall in both MBBS and MD.
4. For PhD in Haematology
A candidate must complete their MD or DM in Haematology with a minimum of 40% marks overall.
5. For Diploma in Haematology
Any candidate with a medical background can go for it.
Normally, it is recommended to do a Diploma after your bachelor’s degree; however, if you want, then you can go for it after you complete 10+2
Haematology Entrance Exams
Some states in India organize their own state-level entrance exams for medical courses. So, keep an eye out for those exams and definitely go for it. However, two major exams of haematology, or medical science in general, that will help you get into some top universities of the country are:
1. NEET UG/PG
The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test is a 3-hour long exam held every year and is governed and administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Qualifying this exam will help you get into a lot of top medical institutes in India and also to medical institutes that are governed by the state government. NEET scorecards are also considered by a lot of private medical institutes for haematology. And also, NEET is organized separately for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
2. AIIMS
All India Institute of Medical Science admits students for UG courses on the basis of their performance in NEET. Without a doubt, AIIMS is one of the best universities for medical science across the whole country. AIIMS PG entrance exam is also held separately for PG students.
Now, in order to get enrolled in a private medical college/institute, candidates are highly recommended to give the NEET exam. As per your query, as we know we can do PhD in any bachelor degree since you have already taken admission in MSC then it makes it more obvious that you can do PhD in hematology.
All the masters course can be taken to the next level with a doctorate in it. The only criteria for PhD is you should have masters degree in the subject.
