Have a question related to IIT Kanpur ?

Hello aspirant,

To pursue Automation and Robotics at IIT Kanpur candidates need to have a CGPA above 5.5. Also you need a valid GATE score. As you are from mechatronics branch you can appear for the GATE Mechanical engineering, paper code ME, It will be more suitable for you than appearing for GATE Electrical.

If you'll appear for GATE electrical it will be different from your branch and will be difficult for you cope with it.

Automation and Robotics welcome candidates from different branches that include

Aerospace Engineering

CSE, ECE, EE,

Mechatronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

Hence apply for GATE for ME paper code. You need not switch to electrical for this.

Hello student,

With a rank of 63,000 in JEE Mains and belonging to the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category, your chances of securing a seat in an NIT or IIIT may be limited, particularly for popular branches like Computer Science .

Potential Opportunities:

  1. NITs: Newer or Lesser-Known NITs: You might have a chance in some of the newer NITs or those with lower cutoffs. Examples include NIT Puducherry, NIT Nagaland, or NIT Sikkim. However, branches like Computer Science might still be challenging.

  2. IIITs: Newer IIITs: Institutions like IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Bhagalpur, or IIIT Una may offer seats in branches related to Engineering or Information Technology.

  3. Other Institutes: Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs): Look into GFTIs which might have less competitive branches available.
