Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is an autonomous institute and deemed university governed by a board of governors, chaired by the president of India. In 1958, IIT Bombay was established as part of a government initiative and it received significant support from UNESCO and the government of the USSR.
IIT Bombay has 17 departments, 35+ centres, 3 interdisciplinary programmes and 1 academic advisory. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay offers 332 courses including B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Tech M.Tech, B.Des, M.Des, MBA, BS, Executive MBA, M.Sc, MA, PhD and many more. IIT Bombay courses are offered in full-time mode, part-time mode and online modes.
IIT Bombay fees range from Rs 67,200 to Rs 8.69 lakhs. Admissions to IIT Bombay to the B.Tech programme are based on the performance of candidates in JEE Advanced, while UCEED scores are required for B.Des admissions. For M.Tech and M.Sc courses in IIT Bombay, valid GATE and JAM scores are necessary respectively. Candidates must meet the IIT Bombay cutoff for admissions. For IIT Bombay course admissions to Ph.D programme candidates must take a written test followed by an interview.

The institute offers a large number of scholarships to students. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay scholarships are offered by the Government of India, state government as well as private sources. Scholarships have always been an important area of focus in IIT Bombay because the cost of tuition as well as hostel and other amenities must be made accessible to students from several backgrounds. People from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society are in huge need of financial assistance and a large number of deserving students are given IITB scholarships keeping that in consideration. Non-governmental-based scholarship funding mainly comes from generous contributions from our alumni and research institutes and IIT Bombay is always in gratitude with search help from society and industry.
IIT Bombay Scholarships are offered for both undergraduate and postgraduate students with certain criteria for sanctioning them. There are four kinds of scholarships offered to students, namely

IIT Bombay Institute Scholarships: There are institute scholarships having two dimensions. Merit cum scholarships or MCM all offer to 25% of intake students and for dual degrees, they are available until the fourth year of study. The two main considerations for this scholarship is academic record and income. In terms of income, the main criteria for this scholarship are sources of income for family or parents that do not exceed Rs. 5,00,000 for eligibility. Students from the reserved category (SC/ST) are exempt from tuition. They can also avail of free tuition dining and availability up to the fourth year of study (dual degree). Also, students in reserved categories can exempt themselves from payment of hostel rent and can collect a pocket allowance of rupees 500 every month. Women candidates also benefit from a merit scholarship of Rs. 10000 every year.

Private Scholarships: Also known as Named scholarships are private by nature and are managed by the Dean of Alumni and Corporate Relations. These are institute-based scholarships having two dimensions. The criteria for the IIT Bombay scholarships i.e. Private Scholarships are both merit-based and means-based. The merit criteria hold for students entering their bachelor's degree in engineering and design through high rank in JEE and UCEED and senior students are considered through their ranking or academic performance. The means criterion puts parental income as the central criterion and the maximum allowed gross income is Rs. 5 lakh. This scholarship requires the submission of an income certificate issued by a government revenue officer such as a tehsildar. If not, the income tax return of the parents needs to be submitted for consideration. Students must perform satisfactorily to benefit themselves in this scholarship.

Hostels here great to live in. The hostel experience is really memorable for any student. All hostels have 24*7 Wi-Fi access and connectivity. Hostel mess food is also far then that of the other college. Also, the hostels are quite safe and secure from the perspective of a girl students.

IIT Bombay has 30 seats for b.des with 30% reservation. To get admission to IIT Bombay, rank should be between 1-14 for the open category. So, you must secure AIR 14 to secure a seat in IIT Bombay.
Safe score in umeed for b .des is between 115 and 125 to get b.des. Various IITs accept umeed score like IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati etc
