IIT Bhilai to organise a residential Winter School "Commoning the Commons" from December 9 to 14, 2024.
IIT Bhilai to organise Second Graduate Research Meet and Conference on January 9 and 10, 2025.
Being an IIT, it has state-of-the-art infrastructure. Some of the buildings are being built, they will be completed by mid-2024. College infrastructure is good with green environment and pollution free area. The full campus is expected to be built by 2030, by mid-2024, all infrastructure regarding academics, like classes and the library, would be completed, along with some sports fields and a complex.
The teachers here are experienced and qualified since it is an IIT, and the professors here have experience teaching at other IITs as well. The semester exam is not that hard, provided you pay attention in class, and the lectures are having Excellent knowledge on the subject
As IIT Bhilai is a recently developed IIT, the placements in the college are mediocre, with the domestic package being INR 26LPA and the highest international package being INR 44 LPA given by Accenture Japan. The average will be around INR 14 LPA in 2023. Major recruiters include Deloitte, HCL, Google, Mahindra, ICICI, etc.
We have pretty good computers, boards and most of the facilities courses require. Coming to the campus infrastructure, its the best. This is not to say the staying accommodation isn't comfortable and we have all the basic facilities land canteens but you wouldn't get the swimming pools and squash courts like you imagine in IITs. But the permanent campus construction is on good pace and the shift might happen in late 2022, so all of this wouldn't be relevant in 1 year because as far as I know the permanent campus is huge and beautiful, it'll make you feel like you are somewhere special.
Teachers are very young and knowledgeable. Although the curriculum can be hectic because of the fractal system we borrowed from IIT Hyderabad. The experience of 2021 batch has been extra rough in this regard because our semesters were 3 months long as opposed to the usual 4-5 months long because of the Covid circumstances and them waiting for the right time to call the students offline. There will be some very interesting new courses offered to everyone as electives
The placements are going on an excellent pace considering the third ever placement season of this institute is going on right now. Just after 1-2 years of passing out many of our alumni and even seniors currently in college have gotten jobs and internships in the dream companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft. Placement cell has also provided efficient knowledge to crack the interviews
We have a transit campus, and we will move to our permanent campus most probably in 2024. We have 24X7 working and air-conditioned computer labs with server based system on which students can learn client-server architecture. There is free Wi-Fi in the academic and hostel blocks 24x7.We have a health care centre, and doctors visit there everyday. Facilities for many games like table-tennis, badminton, cricket, football and athletics are available.
Teachers are highly qualified with expertise in their domains. Everyone has a Ph.D. degree from well-known institutions, both Indigenous and abroad. The course curriculum is planned thoughtfully to make the students industry-ready. Courses are designed in a way that would help students for placements and in other domains. The pass percentage is quite high and only in some extreme cases, instructor fail a student.Semester exams can be a bit difficult sometimes but it is easy if you work hard.
Approximately 95% of CSE students got placed at IIT Bhilai, both on and off campus placements. Some students opted for higher studies. The highest package remains around 16-17 LPA, and the median package is around 14 LPA. Companies like Cognizant, Amazon, Paytm,TCS, etc., come here for recruitment.placement training is also very well and good
Wi-Fi and the infrastructure available in our college are the best. Computer lab is very good on campus. There is greenery everywhere in the whole campus with refreshing air. There is no pollution and college also provides canteen facility with good taste and tiffin services
Semester exams conducted in our college are difficult. They make students ready to face problems in the future.faculty is very strict and good at communication skills. lecturers help students to enrich their knowledge improve
Around 100% of students get placed in our college. Top recruiting companies are Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Tesla, and Accenture. Interviews are taken by them. The placement cell provides them with best placement training.
Hostel facilities are good regarding Wi-Fi and water, and every room has an AC installed. Mess food is good. As only phase I is completed, the whole campus is still not built, but it does have almost everything needed in college for now and plenty of space to roam around but there is no other facilities like medical shops, marts etc.,
The faculty members here are highly knowledgeable and helpful to students. Here we have 2 faculty members, of whom 2 are communication faculty members. But as of right now, we don't have a VLSI professor, so for now, we have a guest faculty member from IIT Naya Raipur teaching us few subjects.
As the Mechanical Branch is a new department, right now there are no B.Tech. students currently enrolled in the course, and only 2 M.Tech. and 3 Ph.D. students are enrolled in the ECE program as of now. So placement data can't be provided, as we are the first batch enrolled here.
Currently IIT Bhilai runs from its transit campus located at sejbahar raipur but very soon (probably by June 2023).There are 3 hostels in IIT Bhilai. Normally Wi-Fi speed is 50-100 Mbps at hostels and around campus.it will permanently shift to its original location at Bhilai.
Faculty are good. Currently IIT Bhilai offers courses in 5 discipline which includes CSE, EE, DSAI, ME, Mechantronics in B.Tech. The faculty is very good with excellent knowledge. While there are more in post graduation like Electric Vehical Technology, Mathematics and Computing. IIT Bhilai follows fractal system in curriculum. Which provides a distributed load to students.
Average package of last placement session was 14-15 LPA. In which most of the students preferred non-core sector. Most of the students got placed in good MNCs .More than 90% students, who registered for placement got placed with decent package, along with that 100% placement was observed in M.Tech CSE.
The hostel facility till 2023 April is somewhat temporary based and not up to the mark but while shifting to the new campus it's a very clear and neat ambience with full Wi-Fi and mess things which are up to the mark for an IIT and the room facilities are excellent
Faculty and staff are very interested in teaching and interacting with students regarding studies and research development also they are known to explain everything which gives students a way to interact with them peacefully which gives much interest in the subject and understanding more about the particular topic
Placement Cell is very enthusiastic about bringing new companies to the campus for placements. The average package is about 11 LPA in this recession time which is more than that of many institutions in the country and easy to do things here than that in others and the placement cell is providing more opportunities to the students with good grade points
The infrastructure at iit bhilai is not that good now, and the new campus is supposed to ready around end of 2022.Currently, the campus area of iit bhilai is around 35 acres, and the new campus is building is around 450 acres. Most of the sports facilities at IIT bhilai are available like badminton, vollyball, basketball, etc. Wifi is very good in Our college
Teachers in our college are very helpful and qualified. The teaching quality is marvelous. Courses offered at IIT Bhilai are very good and relevant. The course curriculum is fractal based semester in which the whole semester is divided in 6 fragments. Courses are also designed accordingly and this is followed by IIT Hyderabad.
We are 4th Batch to join then institute after its opening in 2016. Lots of companies have visited here for placements . The highest package offered was 24 LPA last year and the average package offered was 13-15 LPA. Top recruiters are Microsoft ,Bosch, Deloitte, Samsung etc.
Campus life is too good , seniors are very helpful, mess food is better as compared to other IITs.
I am satisfied with these college
Institue is currently functioning on its temporary campus. Well, classrooms are good, fully equipped with AC(s). Library is also present. Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls. WiFi is provided in institute building and hostels as well. Mess is not present in the hostels but a little far away from them. Badminton courts and basketball court are available. In-campus canteen serves food and snacks.
I am a student of B.Tech Mechanical engineering. I got the seat in mechanical department after clearing JEE danced, thanks to my category ranking. Quality of teaching here does not go very well since most of the faculties are fresh PhDs and have little to no experience in teaching. Course curriculum is tough with provision of relative grading.
Placements are good when considering the CSE and Electrical departments. More than half of the students get placed during the campus placements from the above two branches. Mechanical's condition is worse like any other college. Placement percentage is around a mere 14%. The highest package offered is 20 lacs in the CSE department.
Average fee per year for all the B.Tech. courses is 2.4 lacs. SC/ST students get the advantage of a full tuition fee waiver. Other economically backward students whose annual family income is less than a certain number get remission in tuition fee. If you are enrolled in courses other than mechanical. it's totally worth it.
Although the institute's current infrastructure is satisfying, lack of its own permanent campus does not feel good. Buses run from hostels to mess but the transit is still hectic when taken daily. Clubs and committees like robotics club, dance club, singing club etc. however the funds are not well provided for the same. Miraz is the annual techno-cultural fest organised at the campus.
All the required amenities are well maintained as wellas infrastructure is quite good. Mess facility is average and not at par with the expectations. In a nutshell, it is average and may not fulfil ones expectations of infrastructure at an IIT, but believe me it won't let you feel like a local college too.
The college follows unique curriculum of fractals where the semester os divided into three fractal and each fractal has its tierce exams. In total there are three tierce exams. This curriculum reduces workload during exams and also makes it easy for the students to concentrate over extra-curricular activities.
The first graduation year for btech was 2020. And almost everyone has been placed with their expectated packages. Some are also placed off-campus. Placement cell functions very well and the students have attracted several companies by their achieve during their internships.
Hello reader,
kindly note the branch of your interest and pally it with the college ranking. you can switch between the ranking and branch selection as per your adaptability and preference. I think IITs are always the best premier institutes when opting for the core engineering stream.
Hi Aspirant
Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai, is one of the 6 IITs which was established in the year 2016 in the state of Chhattisgarh by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development. It is also known as IIT Bhilai. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The campus of IIT Bhilai covers an area of 432 acres and it has a total of 45 faculty members.
Although the campus is a new one, but overall the classrooms are extremely well maintained, the faculties are really helpful, polite, qualified. The placement records are best for CSE and ECE branch while for the rest you can expect an average salary.
IIT Bhilai: Admission, Fees, Courses, Placements, Cutoff, Ranking (careers360.com) Hope it helps!!!
Dear aspirant,
If you were to go by my opinion then i think you should take iit bhilai only if you get non core branches but if you are not getting non core branches then i don't think you should iit bhilai as it's newer iit.
Whereas nit Raipur is very good and renowned in terms of placements and academic achievements. Here you can take both non core and core branches. The average package of this college is 8.7L per annum.
Although iit bhilai has 10L average package but that is mainly due to its non core branches and not the core branches.
