IIT Bhubaneswar Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

There are 3 hostels for boys in Mahanadi hall of residence with 800 student capacity. In total, they can accommodate 2,000 students along with associated dining facilities, common rooms, laundry facilities, indoor and outdoor amenities.

Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar facilities includes one dedicated hostels for girls known as Subarnarekha hall of residence. All the necessary facilities such as dining facilities, common rooms, laundry facilities, indoor and outdoor amenities, etc are available for the students.

IIT Bhubaneswar medical facility on campus has a dedicated team of health workers and doctors responsible for students and these facilities are provided 24X7 including emergency care on campus.

The Students' Gymkhana is a student body, fostering all student activities at IIT Bhubaneswar and bridging the gap between the students and the authorities. From its genesis in the year 2010, it seeks to cultivate various qualitative approaches amongst students to master an enhanced life. The Students' Gymkhana is the nucleus of the numerous extra-curricular, technical and co-curricular activities held in IIT Bhubaneswar spanning activities of different genres of sports, cultural and technical fields. It plays a cardinal role in cultivating and nurturing their extra-curricular talents here by encouraging their participation in a number of contrasting events. The IIT Bhubaneswar central library helps to broaden the goals of academic rigor as well as research mission on campus for dissemination of knowledge. It is a modern library which has a large collection of text books and reference books ranging over 14000 volumes.

IIT Bhubaneswar sports complex has both indoor and outdoor sports available on campus in well designated areas and special amenities such as athletic race track, long jump, high jumo, triple jump, short put, outdoor sports such as cricket, volleyball and football as well as indoor sports such as chess, badminton, table tennis.

IT infrastructure on campus and the IIT Bhubaneswar Central Computer facility has over 60 computer systems with the latest operating system and software package tools with high speed internet connectivity.

The IIT Bhubaneswar canteens and cafeteria are inside the hostels as well as all round the campus for nutritious in as well as delicious type of food amenities. 

The IIT Bhubaneswar auditorium has 300 seating capacity area which is very huge and condition for hosting workshops, conferences, events, lectures and even pre-placement talks.

The IIT Bhubaneswar laboratories are planned to facilitate hands on learning as well as research facilities in each and every school or department of learning with state of the art infrastructure. Some important laboratories are Computational Lab, Concrete lab, Environmental lab, Geotechnical lab, Structural lab, Surveying lab, Transportation lab, and Water resources lab.

The IIT Bhubaneswar guest houses are provided either for an individual or a group of guests such as visiting faculty or parents of students. There are a total of 42 single and double air conditioned rooms with restrooms and other amenities.

The IIT Bhubaneswar shopping complex planned in a small area on campus helps with the daily needs of students and facilities such as bakery, stationery, general store, medical store, ATM and parlours.
