Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar scholarships are offered in the form of financial tuition waivers and assistantships to a wide diversity of students in need of financial aid. The purpose of financial aid is to not just provide a financial stimulus package for the student to take care of educational expenses but also recognise both the societal need to educate as well as to reward meritocracy of the student for the hard work endued in previous education levels.
Some of the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar scholarships are provided on a case to case basis depending on the candidates’ individual profile such as academic merit and parental income. These are known as Merit-cum-means IIT Bhubaneswar scholarships. Other types of scholarships are offered on the basis of community and societal factors such as minorities, underprivileged and socially marginalised. A few IIT Bhubaneswar scholarships at a national level are offered on the basis of talent examinations and others on the basis of the region hailed from which student comes from, such as North Eastern states and Jammu and Kashmir. For admission to the Joint MSc-PhD in Atmosphere & Ocean Science offered by IIT BBS, candidates must complete the IIT JAM, which is co-conducted by the IITs and IISc, Bangalore on behalf of the MHRD, GoI.
The prerequisites for the position are a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with coursework in mathematics, physics, and one of the following: geology, statistics, chemistry, computer science, or computer applications, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 55% for UR/OBC applicants and a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD applicants.

IIT Dhanbad is definitely better than IIT Bhubaneswar. As far as the overall placement of B. Tech in Electrical engineering is considered, the overall placement percentage is almost 75% for the academic session 2020-21. The highest package offered was 43 LPA CTC given by most of the non- core companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Sprinkler etc.

Infrastructure and campus of NITW are one of the best in India. The academic building is well-facilitated and well-constructed. Hostels are very good in infrastructure and with a proper facility, and it is the largest hostel in India. This college has the best civil engineering department among all NITs .
