IIT Patna Facilities

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna provides certain facilities to the students, faculty and staff including a library with a varied collection of books, separate hostels for boys and girls, guest house, mess, healthcare unit, institute wellness centre, sports facility, computer centre to provide practical knowledge to the students, SAIF and many more. A detailed description of all the IIT Patna facilities provided to the students, faculty and staff can be checked below.

Boys Hostel
IIT Patna has a total of 7 boys hostels that include gym facilities and other necessary utilities for the students comfortable living. The hostels have a mess that provides good quality food to the students. The meals are served hygienically and tea, coffee and snacks are also available multiple times a day.
Girls Hostel
The IIT Patna campus also has 2 girls hostels with all the necessary facilities. Recreational facilities are available for the students.
Medical/Hospital
IIT Patna also has a hospital running inside the campus proving all medical facilities to students, faculty and staff. Trained medical doctors and nurses are there inside the hospital to take care of all the medical facilities provided to students and faculty. IIT P also has tie-ups with other hospitals like Mahavir Vatsalaya Aspatal, Sahayog Hospital, Kurji Holy Family Hospital and Paras HMRI Hospital etc.
Library
IIT P provides a huge collection of books including both text and reference books, newspapers, magazines, CD-ROMs and periodicals, etc meeting all the requirements of faculty members, students, research scholars as well as the staff of the Institute. The library timings are 8:30 am- 10:00 pm on all seven days of the week, except National holidays. Students can avail the library facilities by showing the library card issued by the library.
Sports
IIT Patna provides facilities for playing different outdoor and indoor sports including basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, athletics, chess, carrom etc. A sports coach is also there to provide guidance and training to students.
I.T Infrastructure
There are 2 computer centre labs well equipped with 172 and 42 desktops respectively provided with local area network(LAN) to meet the IT requirements of the Indian Institute of Technology Patna. Internet services are provided throughout the campus through multiple ISP (Internet Service Provider) leased lines provided by RailTel (75 Mbps), Reliance and NKN (1 Gbps) ensuring any interruption of services.
Wifi
The IIT Patna has Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.
Guest Room/Waiting Room
A guest house is also provided by Indian Institute of Technology Patna at Agrani Infra City, Rajpur, Lai Road, Bihta well equipped with all basic facilities and attached bathrooms. The guest house is also provided with AC’s and WiFi facilities to meet the requirements of guests. A canteen is also there serving quality food to all guests staying there.

It's good quality of hostel and their food in the mess and canteen is also good. This is a very good hostel for male and female where you have the facility to stay safe and healthy. And also hygienic food is also available here. The canteen is also very good, everything is ok.

My college is full of fun.

IIT Patna’s campus is picturesque, with modern classrooms and well-equipped lecture halls. The college hosts various clubs and events, fostering a vibrant student community. Hostel food is also very good and Library is well maintained.

Hello!

You haven't mentioned the course in which you want admission in IIT Patna. The admission to various courses is different. Students seeking admission to undergraduate engineering courses have to JEE main and JEE advanced and after that they have to register with JOSAA for counseling.

And students seeking admission in post-graduate engineering courses have to secure a valid score in GATE and then register with COAP.

The machines, etc are old in the old departments such as mechanical, etc. However, departments like CSE and Mathematics have brand new buildings, computers, etc. In mechanical and civil engineering branches, core placements chances are very low, but there are high chances for non-core placements. However, CS and electrical students have good placements, and metallurgy and material science students also have good chances to get placed better. I have performed bad in Mathematics Board Exam but my overall percentage is around 80%, will I still be able to get into an IIT? P.S. The reason I perform this bad is due to Covid Virus so please be generous.

To be honest, 80 is an amazing score but it does not guarantee your seat into IITs. For getting into an IIT, you need to score good in JEE mains and advance. Admissions into IITs is only based on that. All the best !
