It’s a decent college with a average campus as it doesn’t have its own campus but it’s permanent campus is under construction. It has labs sports grounds fields courts and library as well but it’s just sutable for the few number of students present.
The standard of education is pretty decent and all the teachers are well qualified from prestigious institutions of the country. Also the curriculum is according to the market needs and demands which makes us ready to Face the interviews and exams ahead
It has fare amount of placements with companies also coming to hire talented techies. Delloite, Tata power and all such deemed firms visit the campus for recruitment and all three branches have decent percentage placements.
Being an NIT it’s very cost effective with minimal fee and very reasonable when it comes to the brand name of NIT and the decent amount of placements this college provide with . Also being very close to DELHI helps in exposure .
The campus life is pretty much okay to be honest. Though the campus is not so big , but the hostels and other seniors and juniors have a good coordination among themselves thus helping to male good memories and a good overall experience.
The college has a rented campus of IAMR so it doesn’t give that exclusive premium feeling which other good NITs or IITs give but still it has decent space to accommodate the intake of students it has. All in all it’s an average campus with nature’s beauty at the back.
All the professors here are appointed through government tender and thus it ensures that the quality of teaching is upto the mark. Most of the faculty have done Higher studies from IIT or reputed university. The exposure provided is enough to be industry ready.
Despite being a new NIT it boats of good campus placements and good average packages in all the three departments with handsome pay packages. Reputed companies like Microsoft, amazon and Deloitte visit the campus and recruit decent individuals.
All in all it’s a good experince because the fees is very minimal as compared to the placements offered and the reputation of NIT. Thus it’s pretty good in terms of value for money and can be invested for education .
Though the campus is small but the students and the alumni are very supportive making it a memorable experience for any individual. Everything combined we can say that campus life is not as good as other NITs but still at a decent level .
Infrastructure is rented from Niti Aayog, so naturally facilities are not as great other top notch colleges; library is small and sports equipment/ground are limited though in spite of limited infrastructure classrooms and laboratories are well maintained and equiped with wifi and smart boards. Food and washrooms are decent and hygienic. Hostels are cleaned regularly though for 1st and 2nd year boys, it's a bit far away from college in haryana so college has facilitated buses for traveling.
First year students have a common curriculum irrespective of the branch, so they have to study a variety of subjects all of which are relevant, useful and up-to-date. Core courses begin from sophomore year. The faculty is very dedicated and experienced, always ready to address the problems of students. The curriculum is designed in such a way that students meet the requirements of the various types of MNCs when they graduate.
The training and placement committee of the college is very committed and dedicated. Every year, 90%+ students are placed with average placement of 6-7 lpa. The highest package of 40lpa was grabbed by a student of Electrical and Electronics engineering. Placements in core sector are not upto mark as is the case in most of the colleges across the country. Please note that many students are inclined towards preparation of exams like GATE, UPSC, GRE, GMAT, CAT, etc so consider placement as a backup
The details of the fees and cost of course, cost of hostel and mess are available on the institute website.
Students are not allowed to roam in campus after 7.30pm which makes it difficult to enjoy campus life as the hostels are away from college. Girls are not allowed to leave the campus unless they have an application signed by their hostel warden. Due to limited infrastructure, extra-curricular activities and clubs are not as good as should be expected from an institute of national importance, but students and faculty try their best. Things will get better when we shift to our own campus next year.
In the infrastructure department I think the college lacks a bit. This is mostly due to the fact that our permanent campus is still under construction. Labs for cse, electronics, electrical have adequate equipment although a bit congested and limited in number. Classrooms are quite good and well maintained. WiFi is manageable but don't expect it to be world class. Again due to the temporary campus, hostel is located quite far and in a remote location but all will change with the new campus.
They say that NIT-D is almost all about academics. Jokes apart, like you would find in any other reputed engineering college we have both great professors and some not so good ones. The overall quality of teaching is good. If one is interested enough they can make good use of the academic resources available here be it related to programming or core fields.
Being Situated in Delhi gives us an inherent advantage when it comes to placements. More than 90 percent students are placed every year. Most of the lucrative packages are offered by software companies which are open for all three branches. Cse branch has the best placement statistics with an average of around 8 lakhs and highest of 27 lakhs(amazon). The overall highest was bagged by a eee student last year of 39 lakhs (microsoft). Core companies like Tata power, L&T,NPCL also visit the campus.
If you work hard the ROI here is good enough.
This is one area where the college lacks a bit due to the temporary campus and its location. The fests are no sumptuous affairs with only bare minimum features. The location is in the outskirts of Delhi , the nearest metro is at a distance of around 17 km from the institute. No need to worry about the safety, that is fine. The culture in college is mostly about academics with not much emphasis on extracurricular activities.
Overall, I would say that NIT Delhi is as good as you think it is. It might lack a bit few areas due to the temp campus but you get the NIT tag + still a very good location considering thee capital city. The resources available here are enough if one is determined to excel. If you are getting cse here then don't think much. For the other two branches as well it is a decent bet.
NIT delhi is located in Narela and has a rented campus of IAMR. Boys hostel is in sonipat upto 2nd year and the rest in SRHC whereas Girls hostel is inside campus. Laboratories and library are well maintained with basic facilities provided except the production lab which runs in DTU. It has two canteens and a mess with reasonable prices and hygienic standards. Courts for all sports are there except cricket. The new campus construction is in progress in bakoli which spans across 51 acres.
I am srudying EEE as I wanted to go for a core subject. The college has 3 streams- CSE,ECE & EEE.As its an NIT,faculty teaching here is of standard level or above it and most of them have done their masters from IITs or foreign university. Curriculum is updated and meet standards set by AICTE and MHRD thus keeping up with the industrial demands and market trends. Workshops are conducted to make students aware about real life things. Overall the quality of academics is more than satisfactory.
Despite being a new NIT, NITD boasts of great campus placement records with hghest package being 39 lacs in 2019 by a Rajat Garg from EEE with overall 92.68% students being placed. companies like Amazon,PayTm and Oyo Rooms recruit from the college across all branches. Average package being around 7-8 lacs. The TnP cell ensures proper guidance and grooming of studnents to get them placed in best of companies.
The Course for B.tech costs around 2.25 lacs per annum including hostel and mess fees. The fees varies for different income categories with the 2.25 lacs being the highest. Many scolarships are available by the Govt. of India which can be availed by deserving students. The money is more or less worth it despite being not being able to give students a good ambience and infrastructure which makes college life pretty drub but decent campus placements and tag of NIT more than makes up for it.
The campus life is very gloomy and dreaded to be honest with a very small campus and limited facilities. Different clubs run in the college including literature, drama and Music to name a few. Its located in a remote area and the surroundings are pretty deserted but has connectivity to Singhu border and Jahangirpuri with SHRC hospital in vicinity. Overall its a good experience with lots of greenery and supportive staff and students to make your college life worth remembering.
We have small campus . New campus is under construction and we get till end of this year hopefully. Small space thus we didn't have well equipped labs and workshop thus we go to DTU for some workshop. Whole campus is clean and maintained with lush green grasses and various kinds of trees. We have arrangments for volleyball basketball badminton Kabaddi but Cricket and football cannot organised due to space constraints. All the classes and labs have projectors AC and WiFi.
All the faculties are PhD qualified thai have good expertise in their domain . But inadequate infrastructure entertain small labs which sometimes decrease moral . Also course curriculum should include some latest developments in the technology. But inspite of all these hurdles,we work on projects which gives practical insights of the subject and make us job ready.
Placements of our college enhances in recent time as average package rises from 4 LPA to 6 LPA . But for our department, placements has disappointment due to less number of core companies visiting for placement. We have recruiters like Amazon, TATA power, L&T , Samsung, delloite, Infosys etc. Highest package of our college goes from student of our department as 39 LPA by Microsoft. Lowest package this year stands around 4.8 LPA of CTC.
My tuition fees is 80 k per annum due to income criteria. It includes hostel fee as well . I pay 3k per month as mess fees. With such less fees no college can offer such kind of facilities and especially this is an NIT which cannot compared with many of private College and other NITs. Thus my money worths.
Space is worst feature of campus life as it forced for hostels far away from college and inadequate labs & workshop which are disappointment issues. But inspite of all these we have a culture here of coordination which could be seen during cultural sports and technical fest every year. In these all students and teachers coordinate to make it huge success. It's location is very good as it is located near market and a government hospital thus students didn't have to bother much.
The campus is small because it is shared part of another college of MHRD. But it is very neat and clean and also well maintained by lush green grass and trees. We have two hostels for boys ,one is 15 km away from college for 1st and 2nd year students. Another one is near the campus. Also there are two small hostels for girls inside campus as girls ratio is small. All the classroom and labs have ACs, projectors and WiFi. We have sports area for volleyball, kabaddi, basketball etc .
Though we have space constraints which disables for having well equipped labs and workshop, faculties here made to erase this disappointment. All the faculties here are PhD qualified and thus equipped with concepts which goes deeper . Our course curriculum is about 10 years outdated thus needs updation to meet current technical norms. We work on various projects with help of faculties to get deeper insights about the practical knowledge of the related subjects and be job ready.
Placements is a bit of disappointment for our department due to less number of core companies for placement. Also many times students of our department not shortlisted for coding companies inspite of good coding knowledge. But inspite of all these , highest package of college achieve by student of our department previous year ,bagging 39 LPA of CTC from Microsoft. Average package for our department stands around 5 LPA. We have recruiters like Tata Power,L&T,delloite, Amazon etc
My tuition fees of college stands around 80k per annum including hostels. Also I pay 3k per month as mess charge offering average quality of food. With such low fees no college can offer such facilities especially an NIT tag thus every penny of my money worths.
Worst part of campus life is its small campus space and hostels are far away from college. Good part is the enthusiasm of faculties and students here to always run for achieve something. We have cultural sports and technical fest every year in which all students along with faculties co-ordinate to make it a success and enjoy. It is located near Narela market thus daily essentials can be easily accessed. Also it is located near Harishchandra hospital so that students can cope with health issues.
Small temporary campus thus hostels are outside the campus. Especially for 1st and 2nd year students, hostel is 15 km away from college which is a bit disappointment for us. But the college infrastructure is well maintained and very clean. All the classroom and labs are well equipped with ACs projectors and high speed WiFi. Small library due to small space thus insufficient number of books. Various sports facilities available such as volleyball badminton and basketball.
Inspite of lacks of space which hinders for well equipped labs and workshop , faculties here are so enthusiastic that they arouse students for learning. Our course curriculum is not updated thus it's need updation to meet the current technical development. To have this we work on various projects and in this we are supplemented by our well qualified faculties which holds good command over their subjects.
Placements are a bit disappointment for our branch when compared with various OTHER NITs due to less number of core companies visiting here. Also students of our branch made ineligible many a times inspite of good coding knowledge . The highest package of our college is from our department of 39 LPA offered by Microsoft previous years. We have recruiters like L&T , TATA Power, cognizant, delloite etc. Average package stands around 5 LPA and lowest is 3.7 LPA offered by Infosys .
My college fees is around 80 k per annum including hostels and 3k per month for mess with food not so good thus I prefer to live in PG near college with 8-10 k per month fees. With such small fees no college can offer BTech and such well maintained facilities, especially an NIT tag thus my money worths.
Worst part is hostels far away from college, less number of workshop and labs which compelled us to visit DTU for workshop and less space of college which hurdles in organise sports and various other events. But inspite of all these , faculties here are helpful and we'll qualified which erases the hurdles for academic. Also we have cultural technical and sports fest every year in which we learn coordination and leadership skills and also enjoy a lot. College is near market and a hospital.
Our college has temporary campus thus not well equipped due to small space. There is two hostel for boys one is at kundli (15 km from college) and second one is near college for 3rd and 4 th year students. There is two hostel for girls inside campus as there is less number of girl representation. All the classroom and labs are equipped with projectors,ACs and high speed WiFi. The campus is clean as well as well maintained. CSE department has well equipped computer labs.
I am currently in CSE department which has some good faculties having great expertise in their respective fields. Our course curriculum is not updated as we didn't have exposure to some latest developments in technology. But we work on various projects so that we can get practical insights and become job ready.
Average package for our department goes to around 8 LPA with 100% placement statistics. Average package for whole college stands around 6 LPA with 90% placement. Highest package for our college is 39 LPA per annum while lowest is around 3.4 LPA . We have recruiters like Amazon, daily hunt , Infosys, cognizant etc
My college fees is around 80k per annum including hostels. Also I pay around 3k per month for mess with average food quality. With such low fees ,no college can offer such facilities, especially an NIT tag thus every penny of my money worths.
Hostel far away from campus during 1st and 2nd year of college and small campus is worst part of campus life. Students here engage in various clubs including cultural technical and sports club. We also have cultural technical and sports fest every year with support of these clubs and cooperation of various students. In these fest every student work hard so to make it success and enjoy in it. It is located in far from New Delhi in Narela near market and big government hospital.
Small space thus we didn't have required number of workshops and labs. We instead of BTech, doing BE here. We have two hostel for boys ,one in near campus for 3rd year and 4th year, another one is at kundli,15 km from campus for 1st &2 nd year students. The classroom and labs are well with ACs projectors and WIFI. Whole campus is very clean and well maintained. New campus will be soon built which is on NH1 Of 51 acres.
Inspite of lack of workshops, teaching here is very good due to PhD qualified faculties here. They have good knowledge in their respective subjects and make students eager to learn. Though course curriculum needs some updation to meet current industrial demands,we work on various projects to get practical insights and become job ready.
Placement is a bit disappointment for our department due to low number of companies from core branch and also students of our department hardly get shortlisted for coding companies inspite of good knowledge. Average salary for our department stands around 5 LPA and for the college it is around 6 LPA. Highest package till now is 39 LPA by student of EEE previous year from Microsoft. College should work hard to get more companies from core sector.
My tuition fees is about 40 k per annum due to income criteria, including hostels. I have to pay 3k per month for mess whose food quality is only sometimes good. But inspite of all these, no college can offer such facilities with such low fees. Thus my money getting worth.
Lack of space and hostels far away from college is worst part of campus life. We have volleyball badminton Kabaddi and basketball arrangements. For cricket and football spaces is a issue . We have cultural technical and sports fest every year along with various events in which we learn coordination skills which makes campus life great. Faculties and staffs are very supportive in various issues. It is in Narela near Harishchandra hospital
Hello,
To gain admission into NIT Delhi with an SC category reservation and a 12th-grade percentage of 72.8%, you will primarily need to focus on your JEE Main score and percentile, as NITs (National Institutes of Technology) primarily use JEE Main scores for admissions. Here’s a general overview of what you should consider:
JEE Main Percentile : NIT Delhi, being one of the more prestigious NITs, generally requires a high percentile in the JEE Main exam for admission. For SC category students, the cutoff percentile is usually lower compared to the General category, but it still needs to be reasonably high.
12th Grade Percentage : While your 12th-grade percentage is important for eligibility, the primary criterion for NIT admissions is the JEE Main score and percentile. Your percentage is sufficient for eligibility, but your JEE Main performance will be crucial.
Based on historical data and trends:
Aim for a High Percentile : Focus on achieving a high percentile in the JEE Main exam. Aiming for a percentile above 90 is a good target for the SC category to increase your chances of admission to NIT Delhi.
Check Previous Year Cutoffs : Review previous years' cutoffs for SC category students for NIT Delhi to understand the trend and set a realistic target for your percentile.
Prepare for JEE Advanced : If you qualify for JEE Advanced, aim for a strong performance there as well, as it will further influence your chances of getting into NITs.
Stay Updated : Keep an eye on official announcements from NIT Delhi and the JEE Main organizing body for the latest information on cutoffs and admission criteria.
To maximize your chances of admission to NIT Delhi with your current academic background, aim for a JEE Main percentile of around 90 or higher. This will make you competitive for admission under the SC category. If you achieve a percentile in this range, you should have a good chance of securing a seat in one of the branches at NIT Delhi.
Hope it helps !
Hello Anjali,
With a GATE score of 357 in the SC category, securing admission to the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program at NIT Delhi might be challenging, but it’s not impossible. Here are some considerations:
1.
Previous Year Cutoffs:
Hi there,
Hope you are doing well.
For students belonging to the ST (Scheduled Tribe) category pursuing a B.Tech degree at NIT Delhi, the fee structure is typically designed to be more affordable compared to general category students.
As of recent studies and trends, the annual fee for ST category students is approximately 20,000 to 25,000. This includes tuition fees, registration fees, and other charges like library and examination fees.
However, this figure may vary slightly each year due to adjustments in university policies or fee revisions. Also, ST students are eligible for various scholarships and financial aid schemes, which can further reduce the overall cost.
To get the more precise and current fee details, you can visit the official NIT Delhi website or contact the institute admissions office directly.
Hope this resolves your query.
