Infrastructure of the college is very good. Classroom are equipped with smart board and projectors. Wi-Fi facility is provided in the whole campus. Hostels are good and well maintained. Mess food is hygienic and healthy.
I am studying ECE. We have knowledgable and well researched faculty. They always support the students. Many of the faculties had completed their Ph.D from IITs. ALso, they are of good concepts. Curriculum is updated.
Our college has its own placement cell who supports the student. Quality of placement is good. The highest package offered is Rs. 40 Lakhs to the CSE students. The average salary being offered to ECE is 12-16 Lakhs per annum. Placement process is easy.
Fee of the college is not so much costly. It depend upon the income of the family. My course cost approx 80,000 per semester.
Campus life is best in this college. College has it sown clubs like dancing, photography. Loaction is safe. It is able to safe emergencies, also there is mini hospital in the campus.
I am ECE student. This is my experience in this campu still now. I suggest to join this college if you can.
The college has good infrastructure with a well maintained library, good medical facilities, proper laboratory facilities. Hostels are well maintained but need improvement as most hostels are old now. New hostels are coming up. Very neat campus.
Professors are always ready to solve doubts. Syllabus is covered properly and there are lots of hackathons and workshops by college clubs to facilitate practical understanding of what we learn. There are lots of projects offered to interested students too.
Though I'm in first year of college. Placements are really good for Computer Science and Information Technology students. However the Core branches need to work a bit more hard to grab their dream jobs.
The campus is good with nice environment and plantations all over. The newly build hostels are nice with good WiFi and Lan speed but most of the students are allotted in old hostels which are not in good conditions but can be adjustable, the library facilities are good, smart board are installed in many classes but most of the professors prefer board. The food is average here, you will never get food like your home not anywhere in India and the hostel are quit clean with regular cleaning facilities.
I am from CSE department and I took this department because I don't like to mug up most of the things and convey in a logical manner. The quality of teaching is average, the professors there are well qualified and can solve any of the doubts regarding any issues but teaching techniques are not that well manner. The curriculum keeps changing according to the present scenarios taking care of the demand of that subject in that field. If you are studying to get a good job you too have to study hard.
Placements are good, the highest package can raise around 30 to 40lpa and average up to 9lpa and mass companies also comes up take many of the students .The packages depends departmental wise where the highest packages goes to IT/CSE students and it also depends upon the student's performance if he/she performs well in placements then students from any branch can get a placement with decent package.
The campus life is the best here, get to know all kind of people around you as there is much diversity. There are various clubs for dancing, music, art, debating, management, photography, technical, automotive etc. and the campus is not that far from the near by malls and markets with many well know restaurants and in emergency cases a hospital is situated near by but there is a medical unit inside campus. Some professors can be bit annoying but you need to cope up with them if you want good grades.
The overall experience here is awesome. What makes a college,a college is the students. There what you have at the first year will be totally different when you reach final year with lots of experience over many things. You will just have to open up a little in the beginning and the environment does it all.College life spent here is precious, you start up with no knowledge to getting up a job,you start up with a proposal to getting up your love, you start up with friendship and getting up a family.
campus is beautiful, facilities are good . infrastructure is not bad. there are many old building but some are some also. in classroom there is fans , tub lights , projector, a mic boards and then furniture. about WIFI it is presents in hostels. SAC : (student activity center ) having sports room in it. yes they are well maintained, and clean. but food quality is not too god.
I am b.tech first year cse student because I am interested in computer software's. teaching is not too god. yes it is updating but not in a high manner it could me more efficient . this study can make jobs but for betterment education qualities should be more better.
I am know in the first year . so about placement I can tell recording to records and all . so I think according to placement percentages it is good . placement percentages of placement are almost greater than50% for all branches. highest package usually goes to 25-30 it goes to cse dep. average salary almost around 7-8 LPA. faculties are good and supportive.
I am SC student, so for per year around 50-60 thousands, included mess charges . yes I think I am able to pay it because my father is teacher and my mother is housewife . so my father can pay it for me.
campus life is nice. awesome friends, awesome club. in this college clubs activity gets too make attention of students . it makes life excited. as arohan and aavishkar are the techno- management fest of nit dgp.
nit dgp is also good in sports activity. as it is regularly participating in nit meets. overall the education as well as curricular activities are good . it is regular participating in fest of other colleges. it having some great and strong clubs which make whole college proud.
College infrastructure is very good. Infrastructure has all the necessary facilities and equipment which are required for a perfect engineering college. Classroom have all modern facilities like a mic, speaker and projector.ventilation in the classroom is very good. Hostels are also good and clean. Some are old buildings but some are new like hall11 all 14 with all modern technology.
I'm studying there B.Tech in computer science and technology because I love computer and mathematics so much. quality of teaching is very good. The curriculum of college is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. What is the students are studying that makes them job-ready.
Quality of placement in the college is quite good. Most of the student get placed except those who are not studying properly during their college time. Highest salary package offered is about Rs.42 lack CTC per annum that goes to CSE and IT branch. Placement process of the college is very easy. College has its placement and training cell.college is much supportive in the placement.
We have a spacious campus and there are both old and new buildings. The hostels are good, each room is to be shared by three students in the first year. The washrooms of the hostel are also sufficient in number and are well maintained. The mess food is good and also both vegetarian and non vegetarian options are available. There id plenty of facilities for playing both indoor and outdoor sports. the classrooms and laboratories are well maintained and equipped.
We have really knowledgeable and well learned faculties who have great command over their respective subjects. Most of the faculties have pursued their education from abroad and are currently doing research in their respective fields. Needless to say their knowledge and experiences translates well into their teachings.
Our college offers really good placement. The placement percentage of CSE is around 98%. Even for core branches like mechanical, the placement percentage is as high as 85%. A good number of renounced companies like Amazon, JP Morgan, oracle etc visit our campus for recruitment and the packages offered are also high.
The college is not very costly, it is pretty affordable honestly. The per semester fee is around 75K but it can be less depending upon the income bracket of your family. Students with families having income below 1LPA pay around 7500 each semester, which is really affordable. The college has a pretty good ROI.
The campus life is simply amazing. We have really helpful faculties and staff members. There is a really healthy relationship between seniors and juniors and most of the seniors are really friendly and always available to provide guidance when needed. The campus is filled with all the essential amenities that one can want. There is really very little to complain about.
I am currently in third year, and to sum up my current experience till now, it has simply been spellbinding I have gotten man opportunities to exhibit my talent in all the areas, be it sports or cultural activities. Being a part of the Cricket team and the debating society has really provided a boost to my college. One major advantage of this college is that we have a really strong alumni network, in and outside India too.
The infrastructure is not so good . Especially the laboratories , hostel rooms and playground are not well maintained . The issue may be solved as new hostel for boys and new academic building have been constructed recently . Classroom quality is good .
Regarding Mechanical Engineering, the quality of teaching is good . Some of the teachers have really good concept and the way they deliver the lectures is also impressive . The curriculum for mechanical is updated . The study makes us job-ready . Professors also clarify our doubts regarding competitive exams .
Placements are decent for CSE and IT in NIT Durgapur. The maximum package for CSE is 40lpa (Microsoft) . Other companies like Oracle , Amazon , JP Morgan also visiit our campus for IT placement . Regarding mechanical companies like IOCL , BPCL , Tata Motors , and many more visits the campus . We also have abroad summer internship opportunities in CERN , DAAD , Mitacs .
The cost of course in any NIT is not at all justifiable. Its just too much for a government college .
Before coming to the college, I expected a top-notch infrastructure as the name suggests it's NIT. I must say, it's quite satisfactory but not top-notch. The classrooms are spacious and have projectors and microphones. The laboratories are well equiped with apparatus. The library have some very good books in store for us. But the cataloguing is not computerized which is a big problem. But the main problem is students do not get free wifi in campus. The SAC and the sports centres are very good.
The performance in academics mostly depends upon your own effort. The quality of class lectures depend upon your luck as every professor is having a different teaching style that may or may not suit you. But at the end most of them are approachable if you have any doubt. In case of ECE, it's one of the best department of NIT Durgapur with updated curriculum and excellent faculties. Also there are plenty scopes of doing projects. The rest depends on you.
I am in the second sem currently. So not a very clear idea of the placement scene. But I have heard from the seniors and the quality of placement is quite satisfactory. In 2019 the average salary is 9.09LPA and the highest is 32.54LPA.90+ companies visited. The placement reached almost 70-80% for all branches with mechanical and electrical being the most prominent. Top visiting companies were IBM, TCS, Cognizant, Microsoft, Amazon, Director, Vedanta and Wipro and Infosys.
The course fee is extremely high for general category-1 students (check fee pattern in NIT DGP website for further information). Its fee is nearly equivalent to a private college. The course structure is not up to the mark if we look from the huge fee perspective.
The campus is large, clean and beautiful with greenery everywhere. The stray dogs sometimes create a little bit of problem though?. Best thing is plenty of food option. And the worst thing is zone culture. There are many clubs for different activities. One can give auditions according to their choice. The bus stop is nearby but the railway station is a bit far. The campus is safe with equipment to tackle emergencies.
The first year girls hostel is very very depressing with water and wifi problem prevailing. But the senior girls hostels are good.
We have a sapaceous campus having some old buildings replaced by new ones . Hostel are just good with proper number of bathrooms. In each room we have 3 students. We have 2 big grounds but not so well maintained. Hostels and departments are well connected with high speed WiFi. We also have badminton court,Gym etc Also lab and workshop are well equipped with required equipments. Mess food is good as it has non-vegetarian options.
Many of the faculties have degree from abroad and currently working on their research projects. They are helpful inside and outside the class. Their command over the subject is excellent. Our course curriculum should need to be updated especially for core branches so that we can match the level of current industrial demands.
Placement cell need to be reformed with good authorities so that they can manage the HRs and recruiters efficiently as placement are not only the subject matter for students. About 75% of students got placed while 90% of CSE/IT students got placed bagging with an average salary of 8LPA . We have various top MNCs like Google, Amazon etc while mass recruiters like TCS ,Infosys etc. Highest salary goes to about 40LPA by CSE/IT student.
I pay around 69k per semester as my income category is below 5LPA. students with income category less than 1LPA pay around 7500 per semester. Thus such a low fees for NIT tag and such facilities justifies worth of every penny of my money.
In the sports corner , we have 2 big grounds, badminton court,Table tennis facilities ,Gym etc we also have 3 Main fest celebrated every year - Aviskar ,Aarohan and recstacy. Also we have freshers and fairwell in which we keep the moment to decay slowly. Seniors faculties and staff members are helpful except some the staffs being rude . Also we have medical facilities available for college students free of cost
The application process for MBA season generally starts with the opening of the CAT application form which is generally released in the month of August every year by the Indian Institute of Management. This generally mark the beginning of the MBA admission cycle, and after the release of the application form for CAT , other management entrance examination forms along with individual admission forms for non-IIMs are also released. The date of opening and closing of application forms is different for all the institutes.
Hello student,
The opening and closing rank cutoffs for NITs (National Institutes of Technology) can vary significantly each year based on several factors, including the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the JEE Main exam, and the available seats. Here’s a general overview based on previous years:
General Overview of Cutoffs
Top NITs (like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal):
Mid-Tier NITs (like NIT Jaipur, NIT Rourkela):
Lower-Tier NITs (like NIT Raipur, NIT Agartala):
If you have a specific NIT or branch in mind, let me know, and I can help you find more detailed information!
Hi
hope you doing well
For NIT Durgapur , the cutoffs are lower for home-state candidates in some branches. Based on previous years' trends, here are your chances:
Some lower branches:
Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
Biotechnology
Production Engineering
you stand a decent chance of getting lower-demand branches like Metallurgical, Biotechnology, or Production Engineering at NIT Durgapur under home-state quota. Ensure you participate in all rounds of counseling and CSAB Special Rounds to maximize your chances.
