Have a question related to NIT Durgapur ?

When is the form filling for MBA going to start?

The application process for MBA season generally starts with the opening of the CAT application form which is generally released in the month of August every year by the Indian Institute of Management. This generally mark the beginning of the MBA admission cycle, and after the release of the application form for CAT , other management entrance examination forms along with individual admission forms for non-IIMs are also released. The date of opening and closing of application forms is different for all the institutes.

    Hello student,

The opening and closing rank cutoffs for NITs (National Institutes of Technology) can vary significantly each year based on several factors, including the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the JEE Main exam, and the available seats. Here’s a general overview based on previous years:

    General Overview of Cutoffs

    1. Top NITs (like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal):

      • Opening Rank: Usually around 1-3k for CSE (Computer Science Engineering).

      • Closing Rank: Usually around 5-10k for CSE.

    2. Mid-Tier NITs (like NIT Jaipur, NIT Rourkela):

      • Opening Rank: Typically ranges from 3-10k for popular branches.
      • Closing Rank: Ranges from 10-20k depending on the branch.

    3. Lower-Tier NITs (like NIT Raipur, NIT Agartala):

      • Opening Rank: Generally falls between 10-20k for popular branches.
      • Closing Rank: Can go up to 30-40k or higher for less popular branches.

        Recent Trends (2023)
    • NIT Trichy: CSE: Opening - 1,012, Closing - 1,861

    • NIT Warangal: CSE: Opening - 1,500, Closing - 2,500
    • NIT Suratkal: CSE: Opening - 1,500, Closing - 2,800
    • NIT Rourkela: CSE: Opening - 2,000, Closing - 3,500
    • NIT Agartala: CSE: Opening - 20,000, Closing - 30,000

      Tips to Check Current Cutoffs

    • Official JoSAA Website: The official Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) website publishes the latest cutoff ranks after each counseling session.

    • Previous Year Data: Look into previous year trends on educational websites or forums to gauge where you might stand.

    Hi

    hope you doing well

For NIT Durgapur , the cutoffs are lower for home-state candidates in some branches. Based on previous years' trends, here are your chances:

    Some lower branches:

    Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

    • Home State Cutoff (OBC-NCL): ~90-92 percentile
    • Home State Cutoff (EWS/General): ~91-93 percentile
    • You may have a chance here, especially in later rounds or CSAB Special Rounds.

    Biotechnology

    • Cutoffs tend to be lower; you have a fair chance of getting this branch.

    Production Engineering

    • Marginal chance in initial rounds, but the likelihood improves during CSAB Special Rounds.

you stand a decent chance of getting lower-demand branches like Metallurgical, Biotechnology, or Production Engineering at NIT Durgapur under home-state quota. Ensure you participate in all rounds of counseling and CSAB Special Rounds to maximize your chances.
